No. Your involvement of the NCAA almost worked. If not for the vocal (and dare I say "heroic") Bison fan outpouring of opposition, your plan would have manifested itself within the Fabulous Fargodome.

Not on our watch. Not today. Not Saturday.

It wasn't us crying you ****ing ****

Love that bison crybabies can get a rule changed for them. Just stupid. As stupid as the original rule.

Definitely heroic. Bison fans will now be mentioned in the same breath with Jackie Robinson and Muhammad Ali after standing up in the face of tyranny and oppression and emerging victorious over the all-powerful NCAA!!!

Now you guys can turn your attention to important things like getting Rozeboom retroactively suspended and SDSU vacating all their wins, therefore ensuring your spot in the semis as well as taking another week off. After that, it's ISIS.

You missed the joke.

If SDSU has to vacate wins, they don't qualify for the playoffs therefore having to forfeit the game this weekend.

Oh, I agree completely. I think its a possibility in the future, that struggles between a small, determined force and a seemingly unbeatable one will no longer be characterized as a David vs. a Goliath. Instead it will be NDSU vs. ncaa.

Church bells should be ringing.

Yep it bounces off the turf and Goedert tries to play it off as a catch. :p I used SDSU's highlights so not a ton of pro-NDSU stuff.

Although, I will give you guys some credit it's a lot better than some opponent highlights I've seen. Games where we won handily but if you watched their highlights you would have thought we lost by a couple scores.

It had potential honestly. I was in the music business for a while in my younger days. Had he let me help produce it, we could have made it work.

My first suggestion would have been "Umm...don't say JackAttack. Well...ok but just say it exactly twice and then move on"

HAHA! I'm a little smarter than that, I just used my money that would be for hookers and blow and not my kid's christmas gift fund.

I do think it will be another epic game between these 2 perennial playoff matchup teams. I just think with the way the 1st game went down, who is all back for NDSU, and the embarassment the Bison staff had of being outcoached. I think this one is over mid 3rd quarter. I don't see the Bison taking the foot off the gas and I trust the defense will be prepared for anything Stig could possibly come up with.

Mrs. Thunderstruck - "How could you?! Why would you bet on NDSU? SDSU beat us the first time, and we should have had our doors blown off... for some reason you thought that this time would be different?!"

Mr. Thunderstruck - "But, but, but... The introduction video! The Harvest jerseys and helmets! The players wanted revenge! The coaches wanted to show they weren't out coached! Our past success alone should have carried us to the win! There's NO WAY we should have lost that game!"

Yeah...SDSU isn't embarrassed from the 1st match-up at all. Not finishing drives and making a 41-17 beatdown a 19-17 barnburner definitely won't be motivating at all. I'm sure we're content with winning the Marker and rolling over...

That is one thing I don't recall a SDSU team ever rolling over....

2012 regular season Bison won by 3. Playoffs Bison won by 25
2014 regular season Bison won by 20. Playoffs Bison won by 3
2016 regular season Jacks won by 2. Winner by 20?

and of course I'm not going to say Jacks will win.... I wish these 2 teams would be on an opposite side of a bracket. That would be one heck of a Frisco matchup. Maybe UND can take over as always being paired with NDSU.

I'm simply saying both teams have plenty of motivation going into this game. The two programs and the rivalry has gotten to the point where it's not just about winning, it's about how you win. Good enough will never be good enough in this series. A win is a win, but I think our boys were plenty disappointed in how the game turned out.

What I do know is that it will be just another chapter in a very long series of sibling institutions, and that the "Flagships" have moved onto winter sports.

I'm actually glad we're not on opposite sides of the bracket. Yes, it would be fun to make it to Frisco, but if we were on opposite sides, we would still likely have to beat NDSU, and I think we have a better chance of doing it in Fargo compared to Frisco. Fargo is like our 2nd home at this point. Frisco is NDSU's second home.

No!!!

What I was referring to was a wildcat, Wieneke throwing the ball, any sort of trick play or formation. Both teams know so much about the other. Dual threat QB running the ball has given Bison defense's problems in the past. Aaron Bailey, Eli Jenkins.....

Sharp money coming in early on SDSU. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Public, who is mostly uniformed and only knows NDSU with their recent success, bet the line back up closer to 10 again. Without any FBS games this weekend (aside from Army/Navy), this will be the heaviest bet game of the weekend.

Because I have rooms and plans to go to Frisco, I have to help the cause even if it means taking a financial hit.

You won't have a problem getting a ticket if NDSU doesn't make it, they will be giving them away with McDonald's quarter pounders with cheese.

Question for Bison fans I've been thinking about. Do you get stressed at all knowing that the streak will eventually end? I'm not suggesting it's necessarily going to this week, next week, or this year at all. But does it put you on edge at all? Obviously, the playoffs are a little stressful regardless. But I would think that with each game or year, the stress would increase just a little. Maybe not, I've never been a fan of a team that had that pleasant issue to deal with.

For realistic fans, we all know it will end at some point. Not a matter of if, but when and the curiosity of who will do it.

For the Bisonville nutjobs, the server will crash, head coach will be burned in effigy, & the Fargodome will be looted.

One thing I will say is the FCS should be wary of the season after the streak is broken...the Bison don't like to lose & avenging a loss opens another gear they shift into.

Stressed? No, the streak will end some time in the future. The bar is set really high at NDSU right now. It is just a game and when they lose they will recharge and keep going.

What makes Bison fans so optimistic or confident is that this team, this year, is young. Add the RFR and true FR classes and the Bison will keep rolling along. The class coming in is a really good one.

Not at all. I've been on pins and needles many times during this run with some close games. It's almost numb at this point. We've had a long time to make peace with the inevitable.

Now bisonville (the home board) is going to meltdown, it will be entertaining. Bisonville can get pretty interesting when we don't beat the spread.

Personally I wouldn't say nervous, but more anxious. I know it will end, but I am never expecting it to if that makes sense? I go into every game expecting a win even though I know a loss is very well possible. I also think a lot of stress was relieved we broke the 3 in a row bar set by GSU

Nope. I figure all fans are equally nervous about their next playoff game... well, other than SDSU fans who are busy making travel plans to Virginia and/or Texas. Heck, NDSU has only had one comfortable win this year.

A couple players have mentioned that they don't want to be the ones who "screw it up" though. Back in D2, the history of past success became quite a burden. The DI version of the Bison has been doing a much better job of handing it... or so I thought. I just want the fellas to go out and fly around.

I find it really funny you are calling out SDSU fans for "making travel plans to Virginia and/or Texas" when NDSU fans plan their January around trips to Frisco and buy championship tickets 3 years in advance.

Heaven forbid SDSU fans be confident in their team. No one is making travel plans but most of us feel like we can win in Fargo. Is it going to be difficult? Hell yeah it is but it's a game SDSU can win.

The only reason Bison fans aren't making travel plans for the semifinals is because they don't have to.

You know, maybe you girls in Brookings don't tailgate when it is cold, but we do up here, granted, setting the tailgate up at 6:00 a.m. is a chore but I think you will be surprised how many people will be tailgating in the early morning dark up here.

Hopefully the BISON can secure a W this Saturday. As long as we can do that, I'd rather see JMU, not because they'd be an easier win (I think they'd actually pose a greater challenge), but because I'd like to see a new opponent.

I suspect Entz will play a lot of base Tampa-2 and maybe have the DEs stay in their lanes and "spy" TC like the defense did in the title game against JSU's Jenkins. Can the front 4 get consistent pressure on TC tomorrow? If they can they the Bison have a good shot at winning. If they need to bring an extra guy or two then the WRs and TEs will be open. Definitely a chess match tomorrow.

If the offense can grind out long time eating drives then I like the Bison's chances. Stick needs to play well tomorrow.

5 titles and a 6th potential title run, young team.....ya, I'm confident!

This title run will end sometime for sure, maybe tomorrow, but this team is young and will be back next year again. Add in a returning Tanguay and DeLuca. This "run" has the potential to keep going and going.....

The D line will not be effective unless we blitz and put pressure on their QB.

The LBs need to be allowed to play like LBs. Dropping them back in pass coverage every freaking play does nobody any good except the receivers running across the middle on the under routes and the QB because the D-line cant contain the QB with only 4 rushing. Which leaves a pretty big cushion between the LOS and the secondary.

There's two ways this goes IMO for a bison win by a decent margin. A) they do exactly what you said or B) they shut down the SDSU offense like Nova did and hit some big plays.

Of those two I would say B would be the more probable. NDSU hasn't been the grind it out team of the past as much. They don't do as many long grind it out drives. They tend to be more grind and then pop a big run or a big pass. That's part of why Bison fans I've talked to are so frustrated with the second half, the long time consuming drives aren't there anymore. It's evident in the TOP of a lot of bison games. Doesn't mean their offense is any worse, it's just different.

More likely is one of your two options happen, either the Bison defense completely frustrates the SDSU offense by keeping TC contained in the pocket or the offense does what Cal Poly did and completely controls the pace of the game. If those happen it will be a close game, which I am expecting with a fired up Bison team and a jacked up crowd.

The third option is it plays out similar to the first matchup where the SDSU d holds down the bison run game and TC and company run wild. If that happens I don't think it ends up nearly as close as the last game, SDSU has gotten much better at finishing drives towards the end of the season.

If it's a close game I do think that it favors SDSU, for a couple of reasons. First one is, the longer it's a close game the more pressure starts to build on NDSU players to not be the team that lost the streak. Then guys start to overextend themselves and try to do more than their job, which leads to mistakes in a blown assignment in containing TC or Stick throwing into coverages he really shouldn't, or a fumble with a guy trying to get that extra two yards over extending himself. The second one is that overall SDSU has been one of the cleanest playing teams in the Valley. They haven't beaten themselves with penalties and turnovers. Now it's yet to be seen how they respond to the playoff version of the Fargodome, and it's certainly possible that the amped up crowd and bison team can force them into a bunch of uncharacteristic mistakes. It's also possible that SDSU feels the pressure of being close to being the team that unseats the Bison in Fargo on national TV and doesn't handle that well. However overall looking at the game beforehand I trust the team that has been less mistake prone to stick to their norm.

This game has the huge potential of being a big turning point for SDSU as a program. There are tons of never happened befores in this game. NDSU has never lost in the playoffs at the Dome, never lost in the yellow jerseys, never lost twice in a season at home to a team, never lost to SDSU in the playoffs, never lost to the same team two games in a row during this run, never lost on ESPN in the playoffs, etc. For all of the talk about NDSU coming in amped up, I expect SDSU to be just as amped for this game because of the opportunity in front of them as well as probably feeling like they have something to prove with everyone doubting they can come into the dome and win a second time in spite of a physically dominating performance last time and generally being told they aren't as good of a team as NDSU is. It might be something to watch to see what team handles their emotions the best to start the game. It's very possible to come in too pumped up, which I think is why both coaches seem to be downplaying it instead of talking about how huge of a rematch it is.

In the end it comes down to whose offensive line wins, per the norm for this game. SDSUs offensive line won and NDSUs line lost last time. Will SDSU have a bunch of false starts with a more amped up crowd? Does the NDSU line assert themselves over the Jacks d line in the run game? Does NDSU sell out to stop the pass like USeD did, or bring some heat and hope to stuff the run and force TC into mistakes and get to him before someone busts open? Everyone is questioning what new wrinkle Stig will have, but the bigger question is what does NDSU do differently in reality. They were the ones who got really out schemed.

I'm rambling and just excited about the game. Go Jacks, go out and get it done!

Agree with this. Bringing pressure is risky but it throws TC out of a comfort zone of just sitting back and passing or running if nothing is there.

It will be interesting to see what Entz does.

So if you win and get in the playoffs next and get a home game, will your attendance go from 4,000 to 6,000. That would be awesome

I meant next year, but I am sure the Jack faithful will fill at least half of the home section in the playoffs next year, assuming the temp is over 50.

Due to the way the first game went, I can see NDSU bringing extra guys at TC often, and letting their DBs try to guard 1 on 1, and try to force TC into a bad decision and poor throw. TC's decision making and the play of the offensive line are keys.

SDSU won't bring much pressure, they'll hold on for dear life against the run heavy offense and sit back and make Stick beat them. If Stick has a good passing game, NDSU will be really tough to beat.

Breaking news. NDSU moves game to Dakotah field

Only about -15 in Fargo. Dakotah Field would be brutal in that, something I have experienced first hand. Indoors can be a good word.

Pumped for the game. Finishing some laundry this morning, had a beer took a piss and then my toilet didn't flush. So apparently, I get to try and hurry to clear my drains and get the water out of my laundry room before game time. Grrr....must be a sign that the bison will win though if my morning is this ****ty already.

You know, maybe you girls in Brookings don't tailgate when it is cold, but we do up here, granted, setting the tailgate up at 6:00 a.m. is a chore but I think you will be surprised how many people will be tailgating in the early morning dark up here.
