that does even list NDSU in Top 25!!

Massey D1 Preseason Hoops Rankings for schools with FCS football:

Villanova
Butler
Georgetown
SFA
Dayton
Yale
Valparaiso
UNI
Rhode Island
Richmond
W&M
South Dakota State
Davidson
Princeton
Monmouth
JMU
Stony Brook
Columbia
Chattanooga
SIU
Morehead State
Montana
Albany
Murray State
Indiana State

Added bonus is Villanova Wildcats are the best in FCS land. Top 3 are Big East members. 20 are East of the Mississippi although Indiana State is MVFC member.

I'm a football guy 1st, but Villanova is a distant 2nd to its basketball team in priority. Same can be said for Butler, Georgetown, Davidson, Rhody, & a few others. Something that most of the other fans of teams on this list (especially out west) don't deal with. I wish it was different, but if it was Villanova football would be in a P5 football conference. That ship sailed when Big East football imploded just as The Cats were joining their ranks.

Question for you UNI guys. What's a bigger deal there FCS football or a solid D1 hoops program?

We are better than Valpo and Yale.

Football is normally a bigger deal. Our basketball team has to be on a pretty good tear to sell out.

No kidding. I watched NDSU beat Montana by about 30 last year and NDSU has virtually the entire team back from last year.

This should be a good NDSU team that should compete for a Summit league championship ando potentially win the conference championship. Probably against SDSU.

It is an exciting time for NDSU hoops as they move into their new arena.

Used to be football for a large margin

Basketball is quickly catching it. Crowds for football still dwarf basketball but in terms of what generates conversation and coverage basketball has passed football.

Pay our basketball coach a million per year all privately funded. Thats a very telling stat for where donor priority is.

Hey GT, I would realty appreciate it if you would put threads where they belong and save me going to the extra effort of moving it for no reason at all really. Seriously, I would really appreciate it.

Lehigh has four returning starters including PL player of the year. Early season has tough road games at Xavier and Mississippi State. Princeton on the schedule too. Mountain Hawks may well be in company before Christmas. Don't be surprised to see Lehigh's football and basketball teams playing in December. (;-)
