I've been here in Birmingham since Tuesday night and the city has been buzzing. I went down to the stadium yesterday and the stadium grounds were about 80% to capacity with RVs and tents. The stadium's lot opened Tuesday morning for tailgating. We're expecting a sellout crowd of over 70,000+ for this one. I'll post pics soon!

Ran into a Samford guy down here a few minutes ago. I asked him are" you hear for the game?" I laughed and said that he's headed to Starkville tomorrow night but decided to come down to grab a bite to eat and soak up the atmosphere. We're two days away from kickoff and he couldn't believe just how many people are out here already and how many more there will be come Saturday.

I was about to ask how you fit that many people in a Gentlemen's Club, but I was thinking of the wrong Magic City. Carry on. LOL.

Am I right that BOTH teams are 2-5, and that both teams' wins are over the same 2 opponents? LOL
I guess this is about the event more than about the game, and that is OK. It's a shame, however, that these 2 great institutions aren't having a better season.
Glad a SAMFORD fan stopped by. Wish we had just a fraction of that kind of support.
HAVE FUN!!!

Yep we're both 2-5 with both wins coming over UAPB and Valley. The Classic is more than just a game, its a family reunion, class reunion and ect. People who don't come home for the holidays come home for Classic. I got friends and family coming from far away as Seattle for Classic weekend. I'll have about 120+ members in my family that'll be in town. My family has been doing this since the early 1970s.

With games like this plans are usually made during the offseason if you try to wait to see what the teams records are you are most likely gonna be spending alot of time in traffic because all the good rooms will be taken
