Interesting. I wish we would hire an AD, but I think Coach Taylor is trying to maintain it so he can one day be just AD.

One correction to the article- Darian Barnes id the starting center for the Miami Dolphins, not Tampa Bay. He was on Tampa Bay's Superbowl team.

I imagine there are few that can do both jobs but I would think in todays environment you either need to be the AD or the Coach.

You may be right that he would like to keep that job for him.

Mid '80's Furman made the football coach the AD and it worked ok. The main reason was to up the salary of someone that we knew would eventually make the ACC big bucks anyway.

I imagine that the institution has a plan in place for the athletic department, and everyone needs to play their part.
