Is the NHL still around? Philly has forgotten about hockey. Looks like the Flyers have too.

They beat the Canes the other night, 1 game after the Canes beat the Ducks, go figure

Broduer got mega-dissed here... He is easily the best goalie in the East this year and should be in the running for the Hart. Might as well give him the Vezina right now... 7 SOs, somethign like 2.20 GAA... seriously...

I really hope Khabibulin gets chosen as a reserve for the West, he has been FANTASTIC for Chicago this season with the exception of 2 games maybe :)

I was asked if I wanted some tickets to the NHL All Star Game, since it is in Dallas, but I turned them down. I'd rather stab my eyes out with hot butter knives.

Hockey killed itself with the last strike/lockout/whatever it was.

Have you even watched a game since then? Faster pace, better scoring. Gotta love it!

For me, the NHL killed itself when the Whalers left Hartford in '97.

I've been following minor league hockey instead, although it hasn't been that easy as I've seen my hockey teams in New Haven and Danbury fold repeatedly over the years.....

Funny, that's when it really got rolling here in NC. xlolx

Anahiem's Andy McDonald (Colgate '00) added to the Western Conference team after Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg. First Colgate player ever selected to the NHL All-Star Game.

Go Andy! (http://www.anaheimducks.com/press/release/topstory.php?dir=200604&id=1578) :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Pretty entertaining skills comp last night. A Carolina Hurricanes actually made a goal during the shootout, can you believe it?

BTW, not too fond of the new jerseys

Hate I missed the skills competition and young stars game (some SERIOUS talent just on that mini all star team) last night, but I'm looking forward to the game tonight. Should be fun.

Bigger snub IMO was Alexander Semin (Capitals) who didn't even get to play in the Young Stars game last night. 27 goals and 20 assists this year. More goals than anyone on your list. :(

Went to the skills competition and All-Star game last time it was in Phila. I enjoyed the skills comp., thought the game was boring.

That was definitely a fun game to watch. I especially liked that save by Brodeur where he spun 360 degrees. I felt sorry for the goalies trying to play against a team full of high-scorers! xlolx xlolx

Haha, yeah...the goalies kind of get the shaft. Martin Brodeur, one of the best goalies of all time, gave up 6 goals in the 2nd period. Yikes.

How about the big guy, Zdeno Chara scoring twice. And neither one came by way of his 100.4 mph slap shot. It really is odd watching a 6'9" guy play hockey.

After all the talk about Ovechkin and Crosby, they had exactly 1 goal b/w them (Crosby didn't get a point).

Also, congrats to Joe Sakic (go Avs!) whose 4 assist pushed him past Mark Messier for the all-time all-star game points leader.

Brind'Amour wasn't snubbed. He declined so he could rest his old bones.

The 'Canes young guys had a good night. Williams had a goal and an assist and Staal had a goal.

Let's hope that jump starts Staal after his lackluster first half

Good game to watch, very entertaining. I especially enjoyed Marty Turco's running commentary during the 3rd Period. Hysterical to listen to.

Especially when he'd keep talking and still make a good save.
