I guess the Huskies are trolling for wins with this move. A lot of teams don't like playing PJ's option, because they end up with losses.

I would hope we could get a game or two at Navy. Great road trips in the past. Drove to Baltimore, next day sailed up the Chesapeake on two cruise ships with lunch and music. Sailed back with dinner and dance band. Overnight in Bal'mer...a great weekend, win or lose. Will be 20 years since Lehigh last played the Midshipmen--a 24-9 win in 1987..

Yale has played Navy twice in games I attended. A win at the Bowl in '81 and a loss at Annapolis in '88. It WAS a fun road trip (despite the loss) and a treat to watch the Midshipman march into the stadium. The game happened to be the day before the end of the baseball season and I took the opportunity to go to Memorial Stadium to see the Orioles on Sunday. The were playing the A's and Mark McGwire hit a long home run, but I really went just to see where Johnny Unitas played.

A couple of things.
Navy is looking to substitute UConn for WKU in '08. Which makes little sense
UConn is all set to sign a three game deal with Notre Dame in '09 '11 and '12. One game is rumored to be at Gillette Stadium as the "home" opener.
Apparently these two deals are somehow linked.

I'd love to see Colgate get a game with either school. We have played both infrequently since the 1970's.

Don't know how many 1-AA's Navy will play in a season, UD is already on their '07, '09, '10 schedules. Series takes a break in 2008, UD vs Maryland in College Park.

I'd love to see Arizona get them on the schedule. It'd be fun to watch Navy. They're non-conf. schedule is full next year, but they need 1 more for '08 and 2 more for '09. '10 is full, unless UofA wants to drop the Citadel game.
I doubt it would happen though. I don't think either school wants to deal with the long travel, and Arizona would probably be looking for an easier opponent. They have Toledo in a 2 home 1 away deal for '08, '10 and '12.

Towson is taking Delaware's '08 spot against Navy.
Can't wait. It'll be the first game for Towson against a FBS team.
Towson was supposed to play Navy back in 93-94, but they dropped us when we began grandfathering out the scholarships. Sad, so sad.

I know UCONN has been working on getting a series with ND. However, I'm not sure if they'll play that game at Gillette. I doubt the state of CT would want to do any favors for Bob Kraft after the "Patriots are moving to Hartford... no wait" deal.

Well ND is doing CT a favor. If ND says we'll play you but one game is in Gillette then you take it.
Keep in mind, ND recently canceled a few games with BC and they want to maintain a presence in New England.

Notre Dame is planning on scheduling more neutral site games across the country and that combined with the Big East deal (3 games a year) means an ND-UConn game at Gillette is likely at some point in the future

Blue and Gold is pretty legit. Here are some tentative schedules in ND's future, they go up to 2012. Looks like the BC series will be renewed.

BC and Notre Dame have one series remaining that ND will honor. But there was series beyond that that was cancelled last fall. No specific reason was cited. It may have had to do with BC trashing a locker room, the last time they played at South Bend or it may be because they promised to schedule more Big East schools given that they are BE member for just about every other sport but football. ND then signed a long term series with Rutgers and the ND AD later acknowledged that they are looking for more games in the Northeast.
Why would they cancel a series and then renew it? Looks like they will be looking to schedule games with Syracuse, maybe UConn and perhaps Army who is a traditional opponent.
