Southeast Missouri made a defensive stop on fourth down late in the fourth quarter and then held the ball for the final 5:39 of the game as the Redhawks upset No. 13 Eastern Illinois, 21-14 on Saturday night.The SEMO offense took advantage of two long touchdown passes from quarterback Jesse Hosket to give the Redhawks just enough offense for the win.** With the game tied at 14-14, Hosket connected with Marquette Murdock for a 45-yard touchdown pass to give SEMO the 21-14 lead in the third quarter.* Hosket finished the game 12-of-20 for 223 yards.Trailing 14-7 at the half EIU's defense evened the score on the first offensive possession.* Pono Choy scooped up a fumble in the back field and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown to tie the game 14-14 with 14:11 to play in the third quarter.*SEMO scored on their first two possessions of the first quarter with that lead holding up for a 14-7 halftime lead.** Hosket capped the first Redhawks drive with a 1-yard touchdown run on 4th and goal.* Hosket connected on a 62-yard pass to Adrian Davis on the first play of SEMO's second drive for a 14-0 lead with 8 minutes to play in the first half.The Panthers cut the margin in half with 4:26 to play in the first half with a Christopher Anderson 18-yard run.** EIU failed on another first half scoring drive fumbling the ball at the 10-yard line.* Both teams missed long field goals in the contest.SEMO improved to 2-0 in the OVC, 2-3 overall.* EIU fell to 3-2, 1-1 in the OVC as their three game win streak was snapped.Austin Green passed for 188 yards.* Devin Church rushed for 86 to lead the Panthers.* *Nick Horne and Seth McDonald both had eight tackles to lead EIUMurdock had three catches for 86 yards.* Chad Meredith had 12 tackles to lead SEMO.**
