This rematch would have been more fun in the playoffs last year but I still think it will be a good game as we seem to always play NDSU close.
I'm worried about how our Dline will hold up against the Bizon OLine and running attack. Will the defense that played at Northwestern show up or the team that played at INSU show up is the question. I think we will be able to move the ball through the air on offense, just need to get the ball in the endzone and not settle for field goals if we get in Bizon territory.

The only teams that do not bring their best are the ones that have psyched themselves out. I dont think there are any of those in the MVFC. All the teams bring it when they play. IMO when a team comes in and shows everyone what to do, coaches need a rethink. Iowa doesn't do adjustments, every team will use what NDSU did to them till they improve. Kind of like teams stacking the box against us, we started using more jet sweeps, misdirection and outside runs.

Some thoughts after getting home:


- Punter is a definite need for this coming recruiting class. Give a full scholarship to a very good HS kid coming in.

- The secondary continues to be the weak link in the defense. Nickle back #35 got burned a few times but I guess he gets a pass somewhat for switching only a week ago. They need to step it up big time.

- Horrible run game for ISU. The Bison made some adjustments and got some sacks in the 2nd half.

- Bison were the better team....easily today.

- Caleb Bulter kicked some butt today.

- Easton Stick is a stud.

- Get the win and move on to Missouri State.

We got to Kolbe late in the game when we could tee off, but early on I thought they did a decent job taken care of Menard and Tanguay. With 5 seniors they're going to have quite the OL project going on next spring.

I watched the SDSU game against WIU, I think the TE and WR group at SDSU is as good as anybody in the country, including EWU. I think the game against MSU is going to be interesting, I don't think it will be close but if they start slinging the ball around, who knows.

They are 3-4 after starting last season 12-0 and have given up about 200 yards per game rushing over that time and they'ved played Rutgers, Miami of Ohio, NDSU, Northwestern and Iowa State over that time frame...

It is crazy how momentum can help you out. Iowa got to a point last year where they believed they could win every game. Their schedule helped because they actually could win every game. Up until they played better teams like Michigan State and Stanford. Now they were playing decently for 2 games then came NDSU. They played bad, lost the game, and the confidence they had last year is out the window.

It is quite typical of Iowa though. If they have any sort of expectations they will never live up to them.
