Good morning my football frenzied friends.
Great news to share with all this morning. I have created a FCS wiki.
http://fcs.wiki-site.com I invite one and all to come over and help build the most in depth, accurate, informative collection of information on FCS, it's member schools, all-time great players and coaches, stadiums and current players.
For those familiar with wikipedia it is the same setup and is very easy to use. I was looking to create it on a different server but after waiting 3 days for it to be created I realized the site no longer is active so I went looking for another this morning. I literally have just created it and for the time being have the main page consisting of info from the FCS wikipedia entry though I hope as a group we can change the main page to our own creation.
I invite you to assist in anyway you want wether adding a whole detailed entry or fixing one sentence. Please when making entries be sure to use information this is accurate to your knowledge. I hope by opening day we can have a detailed entry for each and every FCS school.
Again the link is http://fcs.wiki-site.com you may need to create an account to edit pages, just click the login/create account link on the top right corner.

Good job. I'd use the word "nomenclature" a few more times.

When creating a new page use official school name format such as
University of New Hampshire as opposed to UNH to keep all the pages in the same format.

And If you want to brag and declare your school the best **looks at delaware fans** please do it in a page for your school not on the main page :p
Also another article topic could be about a teams fan base. But lets keep with the same idea as AGS, that its a family page and kids could be reading it.

I know you want to be accurate. Is this accurate?
The Championship Subdivision Championship Game is played annually on Davenport Field at Finley Stadium, on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
If it is, I apologize.

"The Championship Subdivision Championship Game is played annually on Davenport Field at Finley Stadium, on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee."
I think what he is questioning is what I placed in bold font in the quote above. While the name and city are correct, the stadium is in not actually on the campus. The campus is about 1.5 to 2 miles from the stadium.

I italicized it but maybe should have been more bold, sorry.

The NCAA Division I Football Championship is a football (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=American_football&action=edit) game played to determine the champion of the NCAA (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=National_Collegiate_Athletic_Assoc iation&action=edit) Division I Football Championship Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-AA (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=Division_I&action=edit)).
The Championship Subdivision Championship Game is played annually on Davenport Field at Finley Stadium (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=Finley_Stadium&action=edit). Finley Stadium is the home of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=University_of_Tennessee_at_Chattan ooga&action=edit) in Chattanooga (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=Chattanooga%2C_Tennessee&action=edit), Tennessee (http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php?title=Tennessee&action=edit).
There we go. Slightly reworded to make it accurate.
IF anytime you see somethiong innacurate please feel free to edit it, thats what a wiki is for afterall. :D

No, just the location of the stadium/game. Also, I wasnt calling you out about it,either. I just wanted to make sure I was thinking correctly that it was, in fact, off campus.
btw, I would not be a good person to help with the GS part. :smiley_wi

Actually, I would not say it's played annually at Finley. It has happened to be there the past several years, but it has been in other venues in the past. And it does come up for bid every so often. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Chattanooga has not been established as any kind of permanent site for the FCS Championship game, which the wording above implies. (at least to me it does)

Feel free to edit any wording. Perhaps it would be better put as "currently played annualy..."?

Good morning friends. I wanted to start by thanking everyone who has contributed so far, its going great.
A number of schools have had pages poping up so I wanted to make sure were using the same guidelines when creating pages. I think its best that we use the official name of the school according to what the NCAA has that way we dont have a page poping up for "Maine" ,"University of Maine" and "University of Maine, Orono" So i am working on a page listing the schools by conference by the name the NCAA recognizes them.
Now when making a page and u mention another school in it such as discussing a rivalry, you link a school once but dont link it everytime, now fdor those not very familiar u can use a shorter name in ur page such as Maine while linking iot to the proper name just do this...
[[University of Maine, Orono|Maine]] and it will show up as "Maine" use proper name then what you want to show after the |
heres the link for formal names I am still working on it...

the wiki is coming along nice. Several people have helped with some entries. I hope more will toss in some info for there fav teams.
I and some others have been working on conference pages http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php/Category:Conferences I hoipe to have a basic frame for each confernce up by tonite such as the CAA page, then others can add info to there conference if they wish.
Also I will put a basic frame box on each teams page and include the logo since i gotta upload them anyway fore the confernce page.
I was tooling around and got a basic stat box for players individual page such as this one http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php/Ricky_Santos I will also try by the end of the day to have a stat box template for WR, QB and RB available for everyone to use with there fav players, the colors can be changed if you wanna use school colors on it.
This week I will try to make stat boxes for kickers, punters and returners and also defensive stats.
Im also gonna be working on a page for a 2006 recap http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php/2006_Season
If you have anything to add to any of this please do :)
If you wanna add to your schools page use the link on this page http://fcs.wiki-site.com/index.php/FCS_Schools to get to the page for your school.
