NORFOLK, Va.- Savannah State senior defensive end Marquis Smith has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of he Week for his performance in the Tigers 16-10 overtime victory over Bethune-Cookman. The win by SSU broke a 16-game losing streak to the Wildcats that dates back to 1992.
