On the NCAA site, under the scores, they are listing their scores under FBS. But they may not mean anything.

This is always a gray area.
But I went and looked and CCU themselves say they are a FCS Independent this year.
They are also listed that way in the ESPN schedule/scores.

The Chanticleers left the Big South Conference at the end of the 2015–16 school year and joined the Sun Belt Conference (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Belt_Conference), initially as a non-football member. At that time, the football team began a two-year transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_Football_Bowl_Subdivision) (FBS). The first season of the transition in 2016 is being spent as an FCS independent (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_FCS_independent_schools); the Chanticleers will join Sun Belt football in the second year of the transition in 2017, with full bowl eligibility following in 2018

So CCU is an FBS team this year playing an all-FCS schedule. Not a single FBS opponent for 2016. They ought to go undefeated.

Hats off to the Terriers. They have a really good team. Their lines dominated us.

No chance of that happening now.

Oh yeah...they lost a one point game to you guys. I did say "ought to" and not "would"...since they have those 22 extra schollies...
But as I recall, App State and GA Southern both did something similar in their first FBS trasitional year...they both still played full SoCon schedules...and they both suffered quite a few losses. More schollies don't guarantee anything. I could see where motivation could be an issue for transitional teams...they are ineligible for postseason (though I am not at all suggesting that's why JSU beat CCU- the Gamecocks have an excellent team).

Thanks. Hopefully we can keep it going this year for a change! Good luck to the Bucs the rest of the way...you guys are doing a great job building your program...you are much farther along right now that most thought you'd be. You already have some good skill players...once you improve your lines you will be a contender.
