Can't be the first Bracketology because last week, he had SHSU as a #16 facing UCLA...
Glad to see the SLC getting some love with the Isles as a #14 seed, though it is facing a tough Texas A&M squad, their flagship, in Lexington...

From the Men's College Basketball page
The first Bracketology of 2007 treats four of the major conferences pretty evenly at the top. Both the 1-seed and 2-seed lines have a team each from the ACC, SEC, Pac-10 and Big Ten

ESPN probably just trying to find a way to publicize it...knowing that probably a good deal of folks haven't followed it until now because conference play is underway...

I was looking at the previous bracketology the other day. It was several weeks old, maybe dating back to late November. It had 9-6 College of Charleston as the SoCon's autobid, even, I believe, after their 11-point home loss to the Mountaineers (back in the pre-Minter era).
A 12 seed for App State is pretty impressive. It would be amazing to actually see that happen, and even more amazing to see the Mountaineers win an NCAA tournament game.
In other App-related news, UVA, who never even had a lead against App, jumped out to a 60-26 halftime lead en route to a 108-87 drubbing of Gonzaga last night.

Four MVC teams in.
UNI a #10 seed. I could live with that, but I really would like to see UNI with a better seed than #10.

Projected champ: Sam Houston State At-large: None Bubble: None Like many small leagues, pretty much every Southland team is outclassed in non-conference schedules, making it tough to distinguish at the top.

Thats respectable. There are 31 teams that have as many or less losses then UNI, and another 20+ schools with 3 losses in much better conference then UNI. I think a #10 seed right now is about right for them, if they keep playing as they are they will move up as teams get clobbered in conference such as the Pac 10 and SEC where everyones having great years and a bunch will come down playing .500 in deadly conference schedules.

According to the RPI right now, only one conference is better than the MVC. And only two conferences have harder schedules. So that theory doesn't hold up well.
P.S.-I personally don't think the MVC is the second best conference, but this shows we are without doubt better than a few BCS conferences (Hello Big 12 and Big 10!)

Dude, what gives!?!
No CAA teams at all? Not even a 15 or 16 seed conference tourney winner? You'd think sending a team to the Final Four would get the league SOME respect the next year.
