Not everyone. I went to the regional in Seattle a couple of years ago, and I was appalled at how classless Gonzaga fans were. I enjoyed watching Nevada beat them.

I was stunned UVA led 60-26 at halftime. Sean Singletary went five of five on threes in the first half (he finished 7-12 from behind the arc, had 37 points overall), hitting three in about a two minute period with the first five, which brought down the house. Prophetically, everyone was being handed these placards on the way in before the game that had a big 3 on one side and "Go 'Hoos" on the other. The 3 side was held up A LOT. Gonzaga was downright awful in the first half. We let the Zags get 61 in the second half, but scored 48 to keep the margin at 21 by the end. UVA hit 18 three pointers, a new school record, breaking the previous record by three. Good time to be a Wahoo, especially when we aren't playing in Puerto Rico (like against Appalachian State...if that game were at JPJ, UVA wins going away...don't ask me why, it's just how the Cavs operate. We suck on the road even at a neutral site like P.R. but play very well at home, having beat top ten Arizona and now Gonzaga at home.)

BTW, no bashing on App State with my comment that the Cavs win at home...Appy is looking strong this year in basketball (top ten RPI). If anything, that debacle of a tournament may have been a good thing. Sean Singletary had some trouble during it and looks to have gotten back into form, which is very important to UVA's tourney aspirations. The one thing I don't get is how we lost to Utah? At least Appalachian is pretty good, while the Utes are now 5-9. I should stop trying to figure out UVA's inability to play outside of Charlottesville because it's just how we seem to be...in all sports.

Why the hate? They are a great story, a true Cinderella made good, they play an attractive brand of basketball, they have a great coach in Mark Few (main reason why they continue to be good), and they play clean with little to no off-the court issues for the program. The Zags are what's good about college basketball. Can't blame people out West jumping on the bandwagon - western basketball has been a little spotty since the UCLA glory days, and that's too-Californian for most people.

Yeah, the thing UVA really needs to do is just manage to win at least one game on the road in ACC play because there's a really good chance UVA goes 8-0 at home in conference play. I can only hope.

I was there too Rob & have seen them play in 2 other NCAA tournaments. Their fans are obnoxious & have some strange sense of entitlement, like how dare you cheer against the Zags.

This is the first I've ever heard anyone say they dislike Gonzaga. They are playing an especially brutal preseason schedule this year - I know they need to make up for the WCC games, but this year is a little much. Hopefully they'll tone it back a little in future years
