Sick of the Bobby Morris thread!
Anybody have anything positive to say in YSU's behalf? xconfusedx
Post it here xbowx
I'll start,
YSU has the coolest mascot in all of college.

Also, the Bowdoin Polar Bear (http://athletics.bowdoin.edu/information/polarbear/index) might want to have a word with you about the "coolest" mascot competition.

I think the MVFC would give any conference a run for their money on the unique/cool mascot front.

Probably...there's a ton of Bears and Panthers, and it kinda depends on how you count ours and Illinois State's. Are we "Leathernecks" (the team nickname) or a bulldog (which is technically what Rocky and Colonel Rock III are)? Is Illinois State's a "Redbird" or a cardinal (again, technically what the animal is)?
Otherwise, Sycamores, Coyotes, Jackrabbits, Salukis, and Penguins all look fairly unique. There might be one or two smaller colleges with the same nicknames as a couple, but not many.

But, what if he goes to a local HS football game on Friday, the ref makes a questionable call, so Pelini bull-rushes him and tackles him to the grass?
It could happen.

Pelini has a son who plays for Youngstown Cardinal Mooney, a local parochial power, so chances are he IS at a H.S. game each week.
I'm afraid Red, with Monty at the controls, YSU does not score this week against BYE:D

This game has the potential to rival the epic Lafayette/Delaware contest (currently in a commercial break I believe).

It must be awkward to be a coach, working like hell to get your kids to play their best, and then go sit in the stands and watch your son play for someone else.

The East Penn Conference (high schools) says no so fast (especially with Zephyrs being one of the "mascots").

I was thinking more college conferences. Went to school in an area with two teams called the Midgets, Oredockers, Speed Boys/Girls, Nimrods, and Granite Diggers. Among others I haven't heard anywhere else

You have Zephyrs, Konkrete Kids, and Canaries; but on the other hand there's a lot of boring ones like Trojans, Patriots, Bears, Cardinals, Panthers. If the EPC extended NW like 150 miles, they could add the Millionaires

If they extended a mile or two across the Delaware River, they'd pick up the Stateliners (Phillipsburg, who played in the old EPC back in my high school days) and County Seaters (Belvidere). One doesn't need to go all the way to Williamsport either; going a much shorter distance to the former Mauch Chunk allows the Olympians to be picked up.
BTW, you forgot the Slaters; they really should play the Konkrete Kids in an all-rock battle.

I grew up in an area that contributed a large percentage of the cement used to build the Panama Canal and also was at one time the largest slate production area in the world (as one would surmise when they drive by some of the large, slate refuse piles in the subregion known as the Slate Belt).
