Caged Combat is coming to Missoula. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is no holes bared, anything goes fighting. Martial Arts, boxing any combination of anything someone wants to use.
The commercial I saw for it showed one fighter sitting on the others chest and beating the crap out of the guy on the bottom. Punching his head side to side with impunity!
I guess some people can call this "sport" but IMO, what the HELL are we as a society doing promoting this! People are actually taking their kids to watch this crap! Is this what we want to teach our children? And YES, it IS much more violent that boxing!!!! Why not go all the way and provide beer/whiskey bottles to hit each other with. Why not baseball bats? Who knows, maybe that's added in later rounds!
Heck, what's next! televised street gang fights? We could have a competition to see who has the toughest gangs in the county! Why not bring back "quick draw" competitions with live ammunition. I can see it now, "Well, we try to only shoot each other in non vital areas but once and a while we're to good and someone dies"!
The guy putting this crap on stated that injury is common!!!! Here's the link for those who are interested.
