My least favorite powerpoll. These things are completely uninteresting to me without some sort of argument behind it.

I'm starting to think the folks over at SouthernPigskin are the types that get to about 90% of a job completed and call it done. So much over there seems about half heartedly done, lightly researched or not much thinking applied. As for attention to detail, go check out the SEC section. In the "News About Teams" they still have some of the team's last year records listed.

Yeah, I'll never understand what the point of doing this is without some explanation. Also, the click bait thing is annoying, too. The link takes you to a place that requires you click another link? I get it. You're trying to make money and page views matter, but it makes the UX unbearable. Even if the content were there.

My gut also says there was a phone call when someone said, "Hey, let's put ETSU in 4th so people will talk about our ranking."

Also, in years past their justification for positions on the poll were basically "what have you done up to this point?"

If SP was consistent they'd have The Citadel and UTC flipped. I agree with the rankings as they are, but SP seems to have changed their philosophy from previous years. However, it does seem like they stuck with the old formula with ETSU, in that they may not really be #4, but they beat the presumptive 2-3 in the BigSouth.

Its clear that the Tennessee schools are subsidizing the website with time, energy, money, and events that create stories and publicity, more so than the other schools. Everyone should get more involved with that site and improve it. That goes for all the media around the SoCon.

I was thinking the same thing. But lets just all agree to never go to that site again and maybe they will get the message. They are clueless and in it for the revenue.

You have to have some rationale basis in my opinion. If it is your own personal opinion, then fine, say it and give a reason.
