Here's last week's results:
UIW 21 NWST 18
Northern Colorado 55 ACU 52
Samford 35 UCA 29
HBU 24 Texas Southern 20
Houston 42 Lamar 0
Georgia 26 Nicholls 24
ULL 30 McNeese 22
S. Utah 28 SLU 23
SFA 30 W. Alabama 24
Looking at last week:
Big Surprise: Nicholls hanging with Georgia.
Expected but hopeful: UCA dominating Samford yet losing. Turnovers suck.
No surprise: Houston dominating Lamar.
Wanted the upset: McNeese to beat ULL.
Expected: W. Alabama hanging with FCS teams.
Expected II: Southland website posting wrong SFA score or not posting it at all.
Here's this week's games: Only 5 games this week.
UIW at Nicholls
NWST at UCA
SFA at McNeese
SHSU at Lamar
ACU at HBU
Looking at this week:
UIW to win. Nicholls played great ball at Georgia but might be beat up giving UIW the window they need.
NWST to get buried. Bear players and fans are puzzled at that last game. Bears know they need to win many games to move on. Ugly fast.
McNeese to roll. SFA hasn't shown anything that says "strong team". McNeese is McNeese. Cowboys by 14.
SHSU to roll. Kade with 200 yards. Bearkats with 49 points.
ACU to dominate. HBU will forfeit the game as soon as they step on the field..by default. ACU wins easy.

Looking at last week addendum: ACU will need to score 60 points to pick up a W against decent passing teams this year. 52 wasn't enough last week.

Yes, our offensive line is struggling as we started two freshmen again West Alabama. Zach was running for his life most of the game. Easly got his yards and a TD but that shoulder injury he got in the spring is still nagging him and limiting his use. Got to hope the players are up to get it done against the Pokes.

Any injuries to teams yet?
UCA has Brandon Cox, Matt Hall both injured in the Samford game. Looks like both will be out a while.

One bright spot for the Jacks is we finally found a kicker.
A perfect 4 for 4 on the season with a long of 44 yards.

Or an offensive lineman named Thor. I'm pretty sure this is Thor Miller's dad.

UIW at Nicholls - Nicholls almost pulled the huge upset, they get a win this time
NWST at UCA - I'll take the Bears at home. I was in Conway not too long ago, nice little town.
SFA at McNeese - SFA hasn't looked great and their QB has struggled. Cowboys get the in.
SHSU at Lamar - I watched a lot of the Lamar/Houston game. Houston is great but Lamar looked dismal. SHSU is too much for them.
ACU at HBU - I want to follow HBU more closely since they are so close to where I live but it's like the team doesn't exist in thnis market. ACU in a blowout.

Have you noticed that the visiting team has won the last three match-ups between SFA and McNeese?

That's the game I will be following. Jacks got talent but its just not clicking. West Alabama was no joke. Never are. It will be tough though to beat McNeese. But anything is possible.

The board looks really good BUT they left off the function that tells how many time outs each team has left. I like to know.

I like your optimism but I don't seem to have that much faith in the younger Conque. Too many 3 plays and punt against Western Alabama in the second half. Western Alabama was better than I expected but we were not that impressive.

Nicholls gave up 29 yards of offense through three quarters. UIW got a TD on a blocked FG, popped off an 80 yard run in the 4th quarter (they were negative before that) and hit two deep balls (40 & 60) late in the game to save face and make it close. This game wasn't close. Nicholls had two different 21 point leads throughout the game including a 35-13 lead in the 4Q. Gotta finish better! Geaux Colonels!

I guess we will get to see where the rubber meets the road when the Colonels come to LC in a couple weeks and when the Kats come to the Bayou on Oct 22nd.
