Not the most impressive start to the season for the NEC in Week One. Yes, they went 3-4 overall and SFU hung with Montana for 3 quarters, but two of the wins came against D-II opponents and SHU's 4 point win was against a Stetson team that had only one FCS level win last year - against Pioneer League opponent Valpo, who SHU plays this week. I really thought CCSU would win at home last week and that Duquesne would have kept the game a little closer at YSU. Hopefully Week Two goes a little better for the NEC.

Ditto regarding the picks. SHU was ugly most of the game last week vs Stetson. I do expect the Dukes from Pittsburgh to get back on track and I think St. Francis is going to give the rest of the league fits this year and it starts by them beating Towson

Here's hoping you and Blackbeard are right about StFU. They are currently 8 and 1/2 point underdogs to the Tigers this week. If the defense can play the entire game like it did the first half against Montana, then they'll have a chance for the upset.

Let's say the defense got it together in the 2nd half. Holding anyone, even Stetson, to only 35 yards of offense in a half is an accomplishment.
