I can understand the confusion....NIU is the only directional Illinois school not in the MVFC and they're playing against the coach who built/began the recent NDSU dynasty...so there's some MVFC connections there, but Northern Illinois is at Wyoming currently (game is delayed).

Depends. Wisconsin definitely showed how to beat LSU. We have the talent to go down and whip some tail, we just have to execute.
Lots of work to be done if we want to see that come to fruition though.

Yeah the Badgers beating LSU isn't the most helpful thing that could have happened for the JSU cause either. With how shut down their RB sir studly was (I can't spell his name) they're gunna be focused on it. However their QB didn't look like he could do much damage throwing at all that's for sure.

I think we have the D line to contain Fournette. In my opinion our D-line looked better than last year's group. We won't shut him down but we don't need to shut him down, we just need to slow him down enough to get Harris to put it in the air. Harris is trash passing the ball and I firmly believe if we can get him to put it up we have a serious chance at stopping their offense.
I don't think they can stop our offense. Especially if Roc can get up feild more quickly. And we should be able to compete in the trenches.
Part of the reason we kept up with Auburn is because we slowed down the run game and their QB was trash. We need the same kind of results from our D-Line and Harris if we want a shot.

Every year every team has a chance to prove it and bring the National Championship Trophy home. So show me.

To be fair the Badgers didn't contain Fournette all that well. He still got 138 on us but I guess thats better then the 250 yards rushing everyone was projecting.
Edit: Shoutout to Southern Illinois for their close game this weekend.

You're nuts. :) The Jacks looked very good, but NDSU and UNI remain the teams to beat. And SDSU plays both of them (and Illinois State) on the road this year. That is a brutal road schedule. If SDSU wins two of those three, home playoff game. If not... might be visiting Fargo in the second round AGAIN. Ugh.

Agree that the schedule is not in their favor, but I can see all three teams NDSU, SDSU, and UNI in any order 1-3 this year. With NDSU and UNI at home I'd call them the favorites. Even with the two split probably.

If SDSU manages to come out on top of those three for the conference, with this schedule, they better get a top two seed or I'll be pissed.

If I'd looked at the schedule yesterday, I probably would have said Northern Iowa and Eastern Washington, but now that both of them lost this weekend (both against very good teams, admittedly) and ISU and EIU each have FBS wins, plus the rivalry aspect (it's not the longest rivalry by any means, but anything that's been going on 100+ meetings is pretty solid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-America_Classic)
