Here's the week one schedule (with my picks in bold):
Visitor
Home
Merrimack (D-II)
vs
Bryant
Lafayette
CCSU
Duquesne
YSU
Alder. Broaddus (D-II)
Robert Morris
Sacred Heart
Stetson
St. Francis
Montana
St. Anslem (D-II)
Wagner
I have to admit, this has the potential to be one of the least exciting weeks on the schedule with three games against D-II opponents and last year's top two teams facing strong FCS opponents. Nonetheless, I'm picking Duquesne as my upset special of week one. YSU should be better then they were last season, but then again, so should Duquesne. I think my Red Flash will have their hands more then full with the Griz - but I'm just hoping for a respectable showing since I'm flying out to Missoula for the game. Sacred Heart should have little trouble with Stetson which leaves Lafayette vs. CCSU as perhaps the only other game (with Duq. v. YSU) that could be competitive. I know Lafayette returns a ton of starters from last year, but they were 1-10 last year. Give me CCSU and a 6-1 start for the NEC.
