Ram/Crusader Cup? I'm not a fan of made up trophies (see every big ten "rivalry" that Penn State has).

Then again, I guess every long standing tradition has to start somewhere.

They made up the Dakota Marker and that's really taken off pretty well, so it could work. Actually they made up one for our high school rivalry when I was a freshman and it's a really big deal now. The Ram/Crusader cup doesn't have a great ring to it though.

To clear up any confusion about the trophy, the Ram-Crusader cup is not new or made up because of this year's game. It's been around -- I'm not exactly sure how far back it dates but definitely before the PL.

Name of the trophy/game aside, Fordham and Holy Cross have a football rivalry dating to 1902. It has been played at Yankee Stadium before in the 1920s and 1930s and may be the only football rivalry to be played in both Bermuda and Ireland as well. So there.... xdrunkyx

Technically the Fordham Holy Cross rivalry is only one year older than the NDSU/SDSU rivalry and has been played half as many times. And SDSU/USeD started three years before the Fordham HC games. How's that for upstart :D

I haven't seen the film. However, given that Cavanaugh is clearly wearing a Dartmouth shirt in the movie poster, I'll make efforts to find it!

Cavanaugh was a Dartmouth alumnus...one of those movies my Dad always made us watch...still have a VHS copy.
