Would be nice to see an FCS team set up a tourney with other FCS teams who are good at basketball.

I'd like to see UNI, Montana, North Dakota St, and UMass

Who wouldn't you want in your tourney of FCS teams?

I'd want to see Sam Houston St, Butler, Missouri St and Southern Illinois!

We should come up with a field, and then someone should simulate it on one of the more recent college basketball video games. I'd say 32 teams...or 64 if you want to include half the division. Each FCS league should have at least one team invited.

That's a good list. mine is hurt because we wouldn't have other mvc teams in our tourney.

I'd like to see how App fares against the best of FCS teams as well. I'd especially like to play UNI, Butler, and SIU.

It would be fun to have a multi-sport challenge with teams who play FCS football.

My 16 team tourney

UNI
Montana
UMASS
Butler
App St
San Deigo
Princeton
NDSU
Villanova
Hofstra
Bucknell
Holy Cross
EKU
Southern Utah
WKU
Marist

That would be a nice 16 team field for a FCS tourney, good mix of schools from across the country that are all having solid seasons.

Unfortunately, having a "FCS" BBall tournament would likely strengthen the "I-AA Basketball" perception that the recent name change was intended to eliminate.:twocents:

We can travel the country to observe other basketball arenas that we can base out new one on!

Well, not many teams will lose to Minnesota this year. They got beat by Iowa State.

Marist plays football though?

That's good to know. I think that's the one conference I know absolutely nothing about.

Yeah, I agree this probably wouldn't be a practical thing in reality, but I do think it's fun to speculate about.

By the way...I saw someone list WKU. Can't we just go ahead and kick them out?

I think Georgetown can also be regarded as quite a decent ball team from the FCS pool ;) Hofstra, too (though probably not in the same league as G-town).

Agreed, they need to move on to "Greener Pastures". If UNI ever moved up, I'd keep posting here, but not about UNI.

Youngstown? For football reasons?

Youngstown? For football reasons?

That and one of their fans was talking about how this is the "coming out" season where Youngstown is going to become a dominating basketball power. xlolx

Plus, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY love to see UNI play AT Youngstown. It makes it more fun when we humiliate the Penguins on their home turf.

Good point. I'd want them here though. Can't imagine their bball arena is as nice as their football stadium and I don't want to drive that far until 2008.

If you want to do that, don't go anywhere near the Big Sky except

How are you guys enjoying Coric Riggs? What year is he or is he done? I remember him sitting on the end of the bench at Louisville for a season or two. He had a lot of potential...he just wasn's quite "Pitino Ready" yet. Of course that could also be applied to most of the players on this year's team.

How are we enjoying him?

Well, he's averaging 0.0/0.0 this year. If he did average anything, we would be in violation as he was a senior last year.

14.9/6.7 last year.
