I guess ASU belongs in either the SEC, C-USA, or the ACC then because our BBall team just beat Vandy, UVA, and UCF.

Sure why not. The only reason I bring this one up is because Kent raves about their basketball program and saying BASKETBALL is the reason YSU does not belong in the MAC..... Well the hell with them; they can't even beat their rivals!

Go Penguins!!
Go Horizon!!
Go GATEWAY!!

Psh, are you sure you want to go to the MAC? You'll still be considered more or less on the same level that you are now: the lower level of NCAA basketball (that, consequently, gets lots of fans when it does well because we love underdogs).

I don't think I'd like App to move up. I think we'd regret it. I feel like you guys might feel the same!:twocents:

Perhaps SHSU should be in the Horizon League?

We put away three-time defending Horizon champion Wisconsin-Milwaukee 89-73 tonight... :)

Apparently UNI could join the Big 10 or Big 12 then...

But why would we want to go to a worse conference for basketball? xlolx

MVC = #2 in RPI!

Many people reading this thread may be like so what, but folks this is the first time YSU has won in Kent in 50 years and the first time YSU has won on the road in the MAC in 23 years!

YSU B-ball is 2-0 against the MAC this year... A big one is coming up on the 2nd vs. Akron... PACK BEEGHLY!

Congrats on ending the streak. We in Cedar Falls know EXACTLY how you feel. We won in Iowa City for the first time ever this year!

looks like Davidson needs to pack its bags and move to the Pac-10, they beat Arizona State tonight.

Geesh! By that rationale, WKU belongs in the SEC. Because we beat UGA in their house in Men's basketball.

That's good for YSU. Kent State played really well against Duke earlier this week, so that is a big surprise.

However, if you think YSU should be in the MAC because they beat a MAC team, then shouldn't Brown be in the Big East because they beat Providence? If Brown was in the Big East, they'd get killed.

Geez, both Youngstown State fans and Appalachain State fans think they are amazing basketball teams after beating the "awe inducing" teams that are Kent State and Vanderbilt.

Kent State is 5-5
Vanderbilt has the worst record in the SEC with 8-4

I realize these are decent wins, but don't kid yourselves into thinking that either YSU or ASU is the next George Mason. I still don't think that either of these teams will make the dance, definitely not YSU with Butler and Loyola in your conference. And ASU will make it only if they win their conference (which shouldn't be too difficult) and I think the SoCon representative will lose in the first round.

Now Butler is a team that sprung out of nowhere. Now they can definitely get something going with this season!

I agree that its too early to be crowning anyone as a giant-killer; however, ASU's wins were impressive and they have to have about equal chance as Davidson to make the tournament. An at large berth will be highly doubtful for any Socon team. One will make it, and ASU is proving that it has the potential to be the best in the Socon. Now winning a game in the NCAA tourney is another story.

I agree completely! Appalachian State DEFINITELY has the potential to be the best in the SoCon.

you forgot UVA too. Thats a pretty impressive week no matter which way you cut it, take out a UVA team, Vandy team and UCF (Conf USA).
