Congrats to all of the selections. It is a shame to leave off Lafayette's Brandon Bryant, Jacob Bissel, and Matt Rothrock, all of which were All-PL 2nd team selections last year. I know the Pard's need to earn back respect this year, but these are all impact players that deserve some notice.

Congratulations to Georgetown's Matt Buckman, though it's a curious pick at halfback. He has zero carries in three years, which makes sense inasmuch as he played tight end.

He he was picked for H-back, not halfback.

Matt Buckman is the real deal. Not a "true" TE although I've seen him line up as TE. Blocks aggressively and great hands. I, as well, am glad to see him rewarded.

Another "real deal" is Kyle Diener, LB at Colgate. Saw him play in high school and was impressed with his grit and competitiveness then. He leads that defense that I believe will win the PL. Plays several special teams as well.

Lafayette's Brandon Bryant (114 tackles) left off the team, instead they chose 2 players with 72 and 79 tackles respectively and another with 95. All 4 will be jrs. Interesting.

Unfortunately, as NE Leopard said we need to win back some respect this year. I have to think that the W-L record from last year is the only reason for the omission. The absolute best player on the worst team is viewed as an average player by most everyone outside of the locker room, true or not. The same can be said the other way. An average player on a good team will be seen as a better player overall.

Is it true, Lafayette already lost two freshmen OL after one day of practice?

What does that do to a football scholarship if some gets up and leaves?

WOs dont get schollies. If a schollie player quits the scholarship is ended. At LU the aid is converted to a package same as that available to all students.
A schollie player injured during participation is his/her sport continues on scholarship. They are assigned to a help/study program assisting somewhere in the Athletic Program.

To clarify, a scholarship player who is injured to the extent he can no longer play can continue to receive his scholarship but not count against the scholarship limit.

I had heard the two who quit were OLs that is leaving the 'tards somewhat 'thin' in that area.

Starting safety lost to serious illness (chemotherapy involved, seems on road to recovery); starting LT lost for season to undisclosed injury/illness. Both sophs. We were hoping to stay away from that stuff this year....

2 walkons walked off, insignificant except with roster at around the 80 mark, we need practice players.

This is significant for all PL schools. The scholarship era has compressed the rosters to such low levels, I know quality practice is impacted.
