Eh, you never really know which teams are going to surprise or disappoint in a given season.

I'm surprised to see us as #2 and Towson as low as #6. I guess you all have to believe it to see it from Towson. Other than that, it's pretty by the books.

I look at this as groups. Top 3 are favorited to finish anywhere in those 3.
4-6 also can finish in any order.
7-12 it doesn't matter where you rank them.
I think the conference is looking at 4 bids with a slight chance of 3 or 5.
The Virginia schools should all be good. Take your pick from Villanova, UNH, & Towson to grab a most likely 4th playoff spot with another as a punchers chance for 5.

I see it ending up with 2 or 3 teams tied as Champion and another 2 or 3 teams tied at the next tier. I've got to give Richmond the edge as one of the Co-Champs, after that ,who knows? I do think we'll see a surprise team or two from the bottom 6 that displace one or two of the top 6 on this list.

The regular season finale between Tribe and Spiders will be the same as last year, decides championship and a first round bye.

The UND Fighting Hawks are hugely worried about the Stoney Brook game. Hell, given the analysis from those guys I am shocked that SB isn't higher in the polls.

They don't have to be ranked higher for a visiting North Dakota team to be worried. Remember your team doesn't have the word State in their university's name.
I'm sure you are excited about your squad, but I think you may find a fight that you may not want from the Sea Wolves. You blow them out then it will be a solid win, but the chances are you will find the Sea Wolves having some bite. Just my hunch.
No team in the CAA outside a couple of rebuilds would be running scared of UND. NDSU another story.

Just a computer simulation, but UND goes 9-15 playing every CAA home & away.
0-2 in this random sample for UND vs. Stony Brook.

Here is my vote.
I was the sole voter for the Tribe to be #1 based on them beating the Spiders at Home and finishing in a three way tie at 7-1 with Richmond and Nova! You should note that Nova avoids both W&M and UNH this year. IMO Tribe wins tie breaker due to the imbalance schedule. Also Towson will rattle some cages this year....
1: William & Mary Tribe 7-1
2: Richmond Spiders 7-1
3: Villanova Wildcats 7-1
4: James Madison Dukes 6-2
5: Towson Tigers 5-3
6: New Hampshire Wildcats 5-3
7: Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens 3-5
8: Maine Black Bears 3-5
9: Elon Phoenix 2-6
10: Stony Brook Seawolves 1-7
11: Albany Great Danes 1-7

No way will 3 teams go 7-1. The bottom 4 teams will not be held to a total of 4 wins, I see Stony Brook with a many a 4 wins by themselves.

You are probably right that we will get upsets and the 7-1 records could end up like last year 6-2. Stony has to play Richmond, Towson, Delaware, UNH, W&M that are tough wins but has winnable games of URI, Maine, and Albany so I could easily underestimate them. We will learn a lot early as UND plays at Stony to start season. Only notable win they had last year was to beat UNH but did beat URI and Albany in CAA..

My comment was not directed towards W&M, or any other team specifically, I just believe there will be too much balance in the conference for any three teams to finish 7-1.

I wont argue against your Villanova prediction, but I think the 'Cats will be solid not great this season. I'd expect a loss @ Richmond and getting picked off at home by either/both Towson and JMU @ home. Lord knows Delaware is due to win one as the 'Cats have taken 9 of last 10 meetings.
I don't see the offensive firepower just yet to navigate any CAA schedule to a 7-1 record even one w/o UNH, W&M, & Stony Brook.
I hope you are right & I'm wrong.
