Furman with Dakota Dozier at LT reeled off three straight 1,000 rushers. Dozier graduates and our backs can barely get the handoff before being swarmed by the defense. Often under-recognized that the running game and quality offensive line play go hand in hand.
Paladins have some talented backs, we just have to be able to give them some room to move back there.

Denzel Williams is back for his (RS)senior season, and we have a couple of talented backups as well as speedy Krondis Larry. Hatcher keeps saying that he wants our running game to improve. In the spring, we seemed to do better at it, but that's not saying much. Seems like it's been forever that I had confidence in making a first down on 3rd and short. Agree completely that the O-Line has to open up the hole. I just hope our love for the pass doesn't keep our rushing game from getting where it has to be for our success.

VMI may start with "halfback by committee"......and their RB's need to combine for at least 150 YPG to take pressure off of Cobb.
