Wide receiver Zac Kerxton signs with Villanova

A strong wide receiver unit gets stronger.

Zac Kerxton was the second recruit in Villanova football's 2016 class, committing in late June (http://www.vuhoops.com/2015/6/20/8817957/villanova-football-recruiting-zac-kerxton-commits). Today it was announced that he has officially signed his National Letter of Intent. The 6'0" 180 pound Haymarket, Virginia receiver chose Villanova over CAA rivals Towson, Delaware and Elon.
Kerxton was a named to the Virginia 6A All-State second team as a senior (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/recruiting-insider/wp/2016/01/18/westfields-jay-aiello-named-virginia-6a-state-football-player-of-the-year/) -- using his speed to make plays down field for Battlefield high school. While you can bet on him lining up as a receiver for 'Nova, he even took some snaps at quarterback for his high school (https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/highschools/brailyn-franklins-sack-filled-night-fuels-battlefields-rout-of-hayfield/2015/11/13/0c344314-8a29-11e5-be39-0034bb576eee_story.html), making him a potential trick-play star for the future.

The Wildcats return a number of talented athletes at the receiver positions, but Andy Talley's program has been good about finding ways to slot in young players, and carving out a role for those who shine in the receiver corps.

With plenty of talent on the receiver depth chart, the Wildcats are well-situated to build up their passing game in 2016. McClenton has shown some ability to be a playmaker already, and Brandon Chadbourn could be a factor as well after returning from an injury. Kerxton will have to work his way up this depth chart, but a speedy outside receiver is something that the Wildcats are always in need of, and something that this corps could use more of.
Welcome Zac to 'Nova Nation!
