OK, I know it's got a new name but I'm sure you guys know what I mean.
What I-A teams do any of you have on your schedules for 2007?
I guess I'll start if off. We have Army. The date is still to be determined, probably 9/1.

UNH at Marshall , The cats had a one point loss to Marshall back in 91 (damn 15 years ago already,I remember that game like it was yesterday) That was during Marshalls powerhouse days when they were I-AA. It's going to be even tougher this time around.

Old Cat Fan, I thought UNH was supposed to have BC in 2007 as well? I thought I at least heard a rumor about that. However, I saw your 2007 schedule in another thread but didn't see BC on it.

Anyone have an idea of who is going to fill the open LSU spot for App. State? Or are they going to keep it a bye week?

They haven't "officially" dropped us I believe.
As for the schedule, I imagine we'll find out in due time. Most programs probably don't want to schedule us, so this might take a while.

Well it's not like you predicted a Bobcat win over the Buffaloes this year, did you? But I agree, the Aggies will probably not be taken by surprise, especially not after this year's game. But then again, some other teams probably will be taken by surprise, happens every year, and rightfully so!

I know we play Clemson in 2007. The next year, I believe we play Virginia Tech, then South Carolina the next. We also have a game against Florida and another against South Carolina, but I'm not sure when those come up.

None so far but that could change. An agreement exists between Portland State and Oregon and Oregon State in that if the Ducks or Beavers have difficulty filling a schedule, Portland State gets first shot at the date. Don't know who else we could get as most of the teams in the WAC will not play us now (Boise, Fresno, San Jose and Hawaii have already refused any date in the future, and Idaho and Utah State have also not been too eager). Possible date with Nevada next year is in the works but no one is feeling too sure about it.
No sure AD means everything is speculative and nothing is definite.

You know, I'd thought that LSU was supposed to play App State then looked at their schedule and saw that they aren't. Take a look at the LSU schedule below and let me know who took App's place. I'm guessing Middle Tennessee. If so that's a shame as a game against App State would be far more interesting. Not that LSU fans would realize it.
Sat, Sep 01 Middle Tennessee Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Sep 08 Virginia Tech Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Sep 15 Mississippi St. at Starkville, Miss. (Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field) TBA
Sat, Sep 22 South Carolina Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Sep 29 Tulane at New Orleans, La. (Louisiana Superdome) TBA
Sat, Oct 06 Florida Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Oct 13 Kentucky at Lexington, Ky. (Commonwealth Stadium) TBA
Sat, Oct 20 Auburn Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Nov 03 Alabama at Tuscaloosa, Ala. (Bryant-Denny Stadium) TBA
Sat, Nov 10 Louisiana Tech Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA
Sat, Nov 17 Ole Miss at Oxford, Miss. (Vaught-Hemingway Stadium) TBA
Sat, Nov 24 Arkansas Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA

Well, they've got 12 games on their schedule and App's not on it. Looks to me like it's been decided unless the NCAA has decided to allow 13 games.

Clemson: Furman:cool:
BC: UMass

The VT@LSU game was supposed to be played in 2004 but Tech put it off until 2007. It's a return game from when LSU played in Blacksburg in '02.

I thought I remembered LSU getting trampled at VT, but never getting the game back. Still, what I've heard is that some promoter is trying to get a VT-Tenn game at Bristol Motor Speedway and set an attendance record, but that both teams would have to move some games. I just had forgotten about the LSU game that was played at VT until you reminded me.

Missouri
We play Mizzou on Sept 22 which will be our 3rd game of the season...
Rumors around Normal that I heard were that Mizzou tried to buyout the contract. Zenger told them the only way we would allow it is if they paid us the full amount that the contract had it in so Mizzou decided just to play the game. Hopefully we can give them a run for the money like K-State last year and Iowa St. the year before.
There are also talks of trying to get another FBS game to take the place of losing WKY to FBS. I would rather have that then a D-II school. I would imagine we will play another FCS non-schollie or something like that however.
We also have a void in our '08 schedule if I remember correctly because we had a mutual option with K-State to go back their but after we almost beat them, they promptly cancelled that part of the contract.
The I believe we have Illinois scheduled in 09 and Mizzou again in 2010 but I could be wrong on that...

Why are people saying we could win that game?
Because Nicholls State should have run them off the field for one thing. I watched the replay of that game and the Colonels dominated in the first half but self-destructed. It's always tough for an FCS to beat an FBS but I don't think it would shock anyone in the Southland if UCA were to beat La Tech.
