App State got a 80 to 69 Bball win over Virginia today in the San Juan Shootout. Just wondering what other IAA/FCS schools have any Bball wins this year over BCS schools.
Before you say it I know we are all DI in Bball.

The list would be pages long, it has been a good year so far for the little guy.

I will have to point that out to all my UVA friends up here. ASU's coming to play VCU in a few weeks, hopefully to a similar result.
It's been a while since ASU beat an ACC team - I seem to recall that the Buzz-era Mountaineers beat Clemson when I was a student, something like 1999-ish.

Montana over Minnesota and Boise State this year -- that's all I know off the top of my head.

Not much to speak of in the SoCon, other than Wofford beating Cincinnati

We beat Iowa and Iowa State this year. Not much of an accomplishment though.

In the Ivy League:
Princeton beat Marshall
Penn beat Navy
Cornell beat Northwestern and Army
Brown beat Providence (Not a 1-A school, but they participate in a 1-A Conference, the Big East)
None of these are anything special

Seeing as Navy and Army are Patriot League schools - and lately not very good ones as that - I'd remove them from this list.

Yep...I took that trip. Had time to visit Tiger Town Tavern and TD's before weathering a snow storm back up to Boone! Great game, though.
We shot lights out yesterday, half of our 26 FG's were 3's, and we shot 50% from behind the arc. Aren't going to get that errrrvery game.
If ASU can get Minter to play tough inside, it will really open things up for our gunners.
Conisdering that UVa's only prior loss was by 2 to Purdue, and the 'Hoos are the only loss on #9 'Zonas record, it's a very solid win for the Apps.

if you want great laughs go to www.thesabre.com and read what they wrote about us, and what they are writing now that Utah is blowing them out hahahahaha, of course they say we suck and we're a small school that should never ever be able to compete with them, but hey we beat the **** out of them.

And that UGA win is looking better and better for you guys as the season goes along. The Dawgs looked good in taking out the 'Zags on Saturday.

Took me hours to get home that night. We knew a snow storm was coming in and we raced to get our stories done, so we could get on the road. It was snowing all the way down to Lincolnton and there was a lot of it by the time I got to Lenoir. I think I got home about 4 a.m. and berely made it at that. Had over a foot of snow.
The game was great, however. Rufus Leach was ripping them that night. I think that is the night when we saw just how good he was going to be. It still makes me sad to think what the kid could have gone on to do had his life not been snuffed out so short.

Utah just beat up on UVA 92-70 and the meltdown on their board www.thesabre.com is TSC'esque and great!! I don't usually get sadistic pleasure out of others misfortune, but with what they said about MY UNIVERSITY yesterday, this is great stuff.

I knew how good he was going to be when he hit 8 3's against Ok. State in his first ever game!
I think the most impressive thing was when they played ETSU on back-to-back weeks. The first game, he torches them from deep several times...the next game, they try and shut down his outside shot, and he slashes to the basket to the tune of about 22 or so points. He was special...could have played anywhere. His death is still the saddest event of my college career...

It's also worth mentioning that since their 1-3 start, Vandy is 7-0 (including win a win against georgia tech). So it'll be tough!

What a fantastic hard fought win. I think we now have a lot of the pieces of the puzzle together. We were a team that lived and died by the 3, but Minter got it done today inside with 27 points. This win will hopefully set the tone for the rest of the season.
Congrats Guys!! :beerchug:
