Good trade for the Sixers - they needed a point guard so even though Miller makes a lot of money he'll help distribute far better than AI ever could, Smith's contract is up at the end of the year so he's a throw-in, and the two first round picks, while not great ones in the 20's, could be useful depending on who's there or even who could want them trade-wise. However, it's still important for the Sixers to lose as many games as possible now - you want as many ping-pong balls as possible in order to have a shot at landind Greg Oden - he's a once-in-a-decade player so there's no point winning a few extra games now.

Let's hear it for 8-74! It's still possible!!:D

Just don't win too many games - Oden needs to come to Philly.

this is going to be the deepest draft in quite awhile those "low" picks will be very useful. now i know there are a lot of AI bashers but can you imagine how awesome it will be with carmelo and AI?

As a Jazz fan, I'm not overwhelmingly pleased with this. Hopefully it'll implode in their face.

Well, someone will need to play defense for AI - that's not a strong part of his game.

We'll see how this works out. I think it will take until next season to really jell if in fact it ever does. Beyond that at least things won't be boring around here for a while.

I like the trade for my nugs! I don't like Iversons attitude sometimes, but he plays hars and he's one of the only players I would pay to see. Go Nuggets!

It will be an ESPN highlight when a frustrated Melo is seen defending his own lane as he tries to steal the ball from Iverson. xlolx xlolx
It is a good thing that Iverson is one of the only players you'd pay to see play. No one else on Denver will actually be playing anything that resembles basketball - they will all be reduced to spectators.

I'll give Iverson a chance in Denver before I bury him. I believe he really wants to win, and if that means passing the ball to Carmelo I think he will.
This is the first time he's really had a talented offense teammate. C-Web and Big Dog are/were over the hill.

If nothing else, Iverson could teach Melo not to run like a scared a$$ b*tch when he sucker punches someone. Little punk. :nono:

it's sad that Ohio State worked their butts off to recruit and land the top high school player in the nation and he'll be gone after 1 year. they won't win the championship this year either...what a waste.

Yeah, I'm sure right now people are all bummed out in Columbus that they can only watch Oden this year and probably go pretty deep in March (despite what you think they have a better than average shot to win it all). What a sad year to be a Buckeye basketball fan!!

The ONLY time Iverson will pass to a teammate is if he can't shoot it himself. If he could pass it to himself, he would.
During his 10 years with the '76'ers, they've gone through umpteen coaches and a different surrounding cast of players (spectators) and have never won a championship. The only common denominator in those 10 years was Iverson.
Iverson is a great individual basketball player who never got rid of his street ball ways (playing-wise and social-wise). I also think he's a very poor role model who is emulated by thousands of kids, who unfortunately will wind up playing street ball forever with nothing to show for it. Good riddance, A.I. :(

Philly will be bottom feeders 10 years from now.xlolx
I wonder who will be the blame then.xlolx
Philly has not had a championship supporting cast since MOSSES and DR. J took them to the promised land.
Don't blame Iverson.................WHO ELSE ON PHILLY TEAM COULD SCORE.:eyebrow:
You saw how OVERMATCHED they were when they played in the championship against the LAKERS and that was one of Philly's best teams in decades.

Well, truth be told, the Lakers overmatched everybody that year - actually, the Sixers were the only team in the entire playoffs to even win a game against those Lakers so that's hardly a bad thing.
As for Philly being bottom feeders, well, we were bottom feeders with Iverson and certainly will be without him. Iverson did his fair share of stunting any attempt to build a supporting cast - Stackhouse left, Hughes left, Bell left, etc etc. Great player? Absolutely? A guy who can win championships? Doubtful.
We'll see if Philly will be bottom feeders for a decade - if we keep sucking enough this year we can welcome Oden to the fold next year and the Sixers become instant contenders. Dare to dream.
