PHILADELPHIA – Former Eastern Illinois safety Jourdan Wickliffe has been invited to participate in the Philadelphia Eagles Rookie Camp taking place this weekend.* Wickliffe is one of 26 players that have been invited to camp this weekend on a tryout basis joining players that were selected by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft or signed as rookie free agents in the days following the draft.*Wickliffe was a three-time first team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection at safety, moving to that position midway through his redshirt freshman season after being recruited as a wide receiver.* He led the team in tackles as a sophomore with 91 tackles ranking 22nd in the NCAA in forced fumbles.* As a junior he ranked 37th in the FCS in interceptions while making 62 tackles.** Despite missing three games as a senior he still ranked sixth in the FCS in interceptions per game with five.* He finished his career with 14 interceptions which ranks second on the EIU career.* He had ten solo tackles in his final collegiate game in the FCS playoffs at Northern Iowa to finish with 296 career tackles.**Wickliffe is the second EIU player from this past year's team that will be in action in an NFL Rookie Camp.* Linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill is in camp with the New England Patriots after being selected in the 6th round of this year's NFL Draft.*EIU currently has two active players on NFL rosters with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.* A third former EIU quarterback, Sean Payton, will be entering his 10th year as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.**
