IRVING, Texas – Eastern Illinois senior wide receiver Trey Pendergrass was named to the 2016 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society as the organization recognized 868 players from 275 schools to celebrate the 10th year of recognizing excellence in the classroom.*Pendergrass played in all 12 games as a senior splitting his time between special teams and wide receiver.* As a senior he caught four passes for 40 yards including two passes for 19 yards in the FCS playoffs.* Pendergrass ended his career ranked seventh on the EIU career kickoff return yards list with 1,095 yards.* The long return of his career came as a sophomore with a 76 yard return against Austin Peay.* In the classroom Pendergrass graduated with a 3.43 GPA in accounting and started work on his MBA.*The NFF Hampshire Society recognizes senior football players at the NCAA FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels that have maintained a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their entire course of undergraduate study.* The player must be a starter or significant contributor in their final season of eligibility.* The NFF Hampshire Society began in 2007 and this season had its highest number of players recognized.**Pendergrass was one of ten players from the Ohio Valley Conference that earned NFF Hampshire Honor Society honors.
