NCAA has said "Enough!" on new bowl games for 3 years.

This might be the best decision the NCAA has made in 20 years. Now, if someone could only convince them to eliminate 10 of them...

I think SC was especially disappointed to hear that news. Especially since they repealed the ban on hosting bowls there.

I would eliminate 17 of them:
Cure Bowl
Boca Raton Bowl
New Mexico Bowl
Las Vegas Bowl
Camellia Bowl
New Orleans Bowl
Miami Beach Bowl
Idaho Potato Bowl
Poinsettia Bowl
GoDaddy Bowl
Bahamas Bowl
Hawai'i Bowl
St. Petersburg Bowl
Heart of Dallas Bowl
Military Bowl
Arizona Bowl
Birmingham Bowl

The Medal of Honor Bowl actually had some traction and potential, although General Hagood's Stadium has significant issues. They would have to find a way to place all the cameras on the visitor's side to make it look nice. Charleston would be a great location for a minor bowl.

I don't understand a bowl in Myrtle Beach. Coastal's stadium expansion won't be completed for a couple of years. Were they planning on playing the game at Myrtle Beach High School?

The real benefit from the end of the moratorium is the return of March Madness to Greenville and/or Charleston.

The version of this story on Yahoo! Sports included a statement that the NCAA is considering changing the eligibility requirement from 6-6 to 7-5. If that is true, the number of games would have to be reduced by more than just a few.

They can take North Carolina's bowls after they are banned due to the bathroom laws.

NCAA adjusts bowl selection rules. 6-6 teams must be taken before 5-7 teams. I thought that was already the case.
