Spring football practice is usually a time for change as new coaches enter a program and players compete for a chance to earn more playing time come the fall.* As Eastern Illinois makes its way through the spring practice one of the Panthers strongest units may be its offensive line that returns four starters from last season with two top reserves that also spent plenty of time on the field.Leading that group next fall will be redshirt senior Evan Kanz who will start for the third straight year and is excited about where that unit is nearing the midway point of EIU's fifteen allotted spring practices."Spring practice is going well so far," said Kanz.* "This is our third year in this offensive system so being a veteran definitely helps.* Usually in spring ball you are installing your offense and lot of the younger guys are trying to learn.* We have four returning starters (Kanz, Louis Vailopa, Austin Askin and Scott Taylor) so everyone really knows what they are doing, which allows us to work on some more advanced offensive things."
