Kevin Richardson is the new Division 1 single season touchdown record holder with 30. Thats a pretty cool record to hold.

The real record is 40 by Adrian Peterson of GSU in 1999, Peterson also had 34 in 1998- just to give some perspective.

The NCAA started recognizing post season production in season and career statistics in 2002, which means Peterson's (and everybody before him too) accomplishments aren't recognized in a way that reflect his true accomplishments.

An interesting bit of irony... guess who was the only team to keep Peterson out of the end zone in 1999? Yup, ASU.

If stats from playoff games count now, then the NCAA needs to make playoff stats prior to '02 count retroactively. It makes absolutely no sense not to do this.

Agreed when I heard that it is just a smack in the face to Westbrook, Branch, Shipp and Peterson. 30 including THREE playoff games is not in AP's universe.

Actually, he scored 41 TD's (29 reg. season 12 playoffs) that year...but hey who's counting? ;)

No doubt Richardson is a great player and I have alot of respect for him for walking on and getting where he is now. NO disrespect to him at all but it just is not fair to all the great backs that came before him.

that record DOES belong to peterson. There are just a few idiots not using their brain on that one.
