I heard about this new spring football league named Major League Football starting this April with 10 games and two weeks of playoffs to end in July. The league will start with eight teams in cities that do not have either the NFL or Major League Baseball. While their league website does not show this, I have heard the following are the eight teams and nicknames:

Rumored Teams/Cities to Start:
Utah Stand (Salt Lake City)
Texas Independence (San Antonio)
Northwest Empire (Portland or Eugene, Oregon)
Alabama Airborne (Birmingham)
Oklahoma Nation (Oklahoma City)
Florida Fusion (Orlando)
Ohio Union (Columbus or Akron)
Arkansas Attack (Little Rock)

Here is a list of the draft picks--I counted 119 former FCS players drafted (could have miscounted by a couple one way or the other but a high number regardless).

As a person that grew up in the 1980s, I grew up having the USFL in the spring from 1983-1985. I loved having football basically year-round. I hope this league gets off the ground in a couple of months.
