View Full Version : David "Carr Must Go" Banner & Van Stolen

Awesome! Well, sorta. A van from one of the local sports radio stations in Houston was stolen. Inside the van, a large banner stating "Carr Must Go".
I think this is funny because I honestly do not think David Carr is the reason for the Texans inability to have success. One must remember that despite all the major injuries (namely on both the offensive and defensive line), that the Texans have doubled their win output of last year.
The Texans, if they had a running game (in the form of Domanick Davis), they would have won two more games this year guaranteed. Next year, Texans will win six or seven games, then the following year, they'll have a fighting chance for the playoffs.
Stop blaming Carr and shame on this radio station for putting this banner together! Of course, this station is not the 'flagship' of the Texans, which is their rival station, 610 KILT-AM.

Grand theft auto at the Animal; hatin' on Hoge
This may sound like a radio station engaging in promotional hype, but KBME (790 AM) talk show host Carl Dukes swears it's true.
Dukes says that station employees prepared a 50-foot by 75-foot banner reading "Carr Must Go" to be signed by Texans fans who support the contention that the Texans need to replace quarterback David Carr.
Before employees could take to the road with the banner, however, Dukes says someone stole the station van with the banner inside.
"This is like high school, where your mascot gets stolen," Dukes said. "How do you steal a vehicle that has '790 The Sports Animal' on it and think you'll get away with it?"
As of today, the vehicle, and the banner, remain at large.

Agreed. David Carr would be an excellent QB anywhere but Houston. They haven't provided him with any weapons at his disposal, then when things go south, he becomes the scape goat. The blown Reggie Bush draft pick is looking worse and worse with every passing week. He would have accounted for a couple more Houston wins this year, at least. It's the same thing every year, they can't keep Carr upright long enough to let him pass, he has no one to throw to, nor does he have anyone to hand-off to. Hand-me-down running backs is the best he's ever gotten. D-Davis is a decent back, but not a premier back. You'd sure thing the offense is bound to improve with Kubiak in charge though..

This season he has Johnson, Moulds and Wilson (rookie but has proven to be reliable) and he still has only one td pass in the last six games. Sooner or later the QB has to step up and make plays.

Well, from what I've seen of Houston, if Carr does step up, he'll be stepping on the backpeddling feet of his O-line.

Who is this Wilson you speak of? Owen Daniels, the tight end?
Moulds has not been anything special for the Texans, which has led to double coverage on Andre Johnson.

Sorry, I meant Daniels. Moulds could be special is Carr would get rid of the damn ball. He folds up way to easily in the face of pressure.

Eric Moulds is no longer a decent reciever.. he doesn't even fall into the top half of all receivers in the NFL in terms of quality. He has Andre Johnson, but seems to be fairly useless unless Carr can keep upright. The offensive line + lack of running game is why Carr's stats are so bad, not because he isn't a good QB.

I wish you folks would stop trying to justify the fact that Carr just sucks.

Wish you would stop trying to ignore the facts (i.e lack of running game and injuries on both OL/DL)...

Carr didn't help anyone's argument today...
One fumble (recovered by the Texans) and four interceptions in a game that got out of hand early, against the Patriots...
Running game was pretty good (18 carries for 94 yards for Dayne), but the passing game was as inept as ever. Carr went 16/28 for 127 yards and four interceptions. The passing game is going nowhere quick. Just a lot of short passes that don't amount to anything. Lack of protection?
Andre Johnson had five catches for 28 yards with a long of 9! Bright spot was Derek Anderson caught a 27-yard pass, the 2006 seventh-round draft pick's first catch of his career. Jerome Mathis being out didn't help matters at all.
Richard Justice of the Chronicle feels the Texans need new starters at: WR, LT, QB, RB, FB, DT, CB, S
Where do you begin? Perhaps the Texans get Oklahoma RB Adrian Petersen in the first round of the draft and snatch hometown boy Kevin Kolb (Univ of Houston QB from Stephenville HS) in the second round...

I thought Rosenfels should had been playing starting the second quarter. I can not believe Kubiak kept Carr in the whole game. xidiotx

Perhaps Kubiak was presenting his case for Bob McNair to understand his search for a new QB...
I really am not sure I'd want to deal with the Kevin Kolb situation if the Texans were able to draft him. I like how the Saints got a veteran QB looking for a fresh start. Drew Brees did work out well for them now, hasn't he?

I don't think Kubiak has to convence McNair of anything. He sees it too.

Wonder what Carr's trade value is? Perhaps a first day draft pick? Texans don't have any extra draft picks. We got to find some value in some of our players to get a few extra picks in top four rounds. We had such a great draft last year. Time to duplicate it!
