Monmouth head coach Kevin Callahan let it be known that MU's home finale is Oct. 29. At that point, demolition of Kessler can begin.

Good for Monmouth!

Not a word from from Georgetown since the announcement of their field plans last fall. It won't be 10 more years, but it doesn't appear imminent either.

Interesting. The Big South schedule has MU hosting Kennesaw on 10/29 and a two-week gap before the season finale at Gardner-Webb. Can we assume that's an open date and a non-conference D2?

Monmouth has cleared their schedule at home after the 10/29 game. They've made that their home finale so construction can begin 1-2 months early.

Hang in there. The MU Stadium was supposed to be built years ago also. Same thing happened w/ their basketball arena. Everything takes longer w/ funding, zoning, twiddling their thumbs etc.

Oh, yeah. Probably not a D2 then.

Good to hear, unfortunate the stadium capacity will still be tiny though.

It's a shame they can't make it bigger. Their hoops arena will officially seat 100 more people than the football stadium. Aesthetically it will be an improvement but overall it's not a "game changer" imo.

If the new stadium is anywhere near as nice as Monmouth's new Basketball facility, it will be terrific.

After looking at the design I really think they should have had the stadium go straight across the sideline. I dont understand why they are curving it outward in the middle. Only takes people further away. also are they going to put temp bleachers on the away side?

Their hoops arena is A10 nice! The football stadium will still be way behind most of their scholarship peers...

Maybe they should aim for this "high school" stadium:

They're adding bleachers to the other end zone in the arena. Football stadium... prob not right away.

Really nice, but not sure I would call it "A10 Nice". would be towards the bottom of the A10 arenas, better than Fordham, Lasalle, maybe St. Joe's and likely Duquesne

As a person from the northeast (but one who has been to many of the insane HS fields in TX), my favorite quote was this:
"there won't be a video board hanging from the roof, but there will be a 57-foot wide video screen, huge by high school standards, on the wall."

Huge by high school standards? xlolx Here in NJ I can count the video boards on one hand...or maybe no hands :)

First game in the new Monmouth Stadium will be against the Leopards!! I will be there with my nephew (Monmouth '19). My brother (his dad) contributed to the new stadium fundraising. I was at the current one, my first MU game vs. Bryant the first Saturday last October in the noreaster.

This is correct. I believe Lafayette will be the first opponent in the new stadium.
