It's coming up fast. What's everyone excited about so far? Liberty has the Largest # of verbals I can ever remember and the quality looks very good. The coaches are doing a great job filling needs. It's early, and things can change, but this class looks to be one of the best ever on paper. The defense is reloading and the offense is filling quite a few holes. Big shoes to fill.

I think you will read over & over again that everyone has a great class coming in. Just the nature of the beast.
Villanova has 17 verbal commits including some really big boys on the offensive line (5) & defensive line (3). Picked up a Syracuse decommit recently on the O line.
This class is 2 years away from seeing many of them contributing, but some of the O lineman specifically will see time.
Wednesday, February 3rd right around the corner, but with the exception of a TE & maybe another LB the Cats are looking real good.
I think Villanova will be right in the mix of the top of the CAA & FCS playoffs in Coach Talley's final season.

The best time to evaluate a recruiting class is 4 or 5 years down the line when you can see who is still around, who contributed, and who were busts. Signing day is not the time.

Agreed. The best NDSU classes have been when we haven't expected them. Though by star count we certainly seem to have upped our game quite a bit.

Read Keith Zembower's Sunday, Jan 24 blog on recruiting services and how stars and player rankings can be manipulated up and down by who is recruiting the players. It is a good read. Click the link, then scroll down until you get to the proper blog date. Of course, in general, most of his blog stuff is knowledgeable and good.

Is that Syracuse decommitt the same one who also just bolted from you guys and gave UConn a verbal? Read about a guy doing that this morning in the Hartford Courant.

It is. Easy come easy go. Was a verbal to Nova for less than a week. Ha

As everyone has said...who knows what will happen over the next few years, but even with the late start, I really like the recruiting that Coach Fisher and his staff are doing.
Just got a kid who flipped from Maryland to become a Leatherneck: https://twitter.com/seanfitz247/status/693575111262121986

I don't know how good Maine's class is but their new coach & staff seem to be very active out on the recruiting trail and we're getting many commitments from the ones that have made official visits. The fact that Coach H is actively recruiting FBS transfers is another good sign IMO. Maine let programs like Delaware, JMU, Nova, Richmond and Stony Brook get all the FBS transfer spoils without even attempting to go after any of them. It's a refreshing change! :)

Richmond will have a smaller (14 or 15) but well rounded class. We've closed well late with several big linemen, including one that flipped from JMU and another that had several MAC offers.

VMI looks to sign 14-17 on Wednesday.....a good number of "athletes" have committed, along with four (at least) linemen...

Furman has 20 commits identified. Largest class I can remember.
We have only lost one "flip." PK went from Furman to Iowa. I suppose if you are losing recruits to Big10 schools, you are doing something right.

Looks like some FBS schools are losing commits!
4 running backs decommited from Texas State!
Yeah that's the usual thing that happens but 4? That's a bunch.

Sounds like JMU could have up to 20 kids in this year's class.

NDSU was supposed to have a small class this year (only 14 seniors on the 2015 roster) but they currently have 12 preferred walk-on commits bringing the total class size up to 29 as of right now.

NDSU tweeted out that the 2016 National Signing Day class is complete with 26 letters received today (14 high school scholarship players, 2 transfers, and 10 recruited walk-ons).
