Sports Illustrated reports that Vinny Marino, most recently at Boston College, is the new OC at Davidson.
Previously at URI, Richmond, UConn and Holy Cross, he was the OC at Columbia at the tail end of the Norries Wilson years and then the last two seasons of Kevin Kelly's tenure at Georgetown. Since 2013 he has been an assistant director of player personnel at BC, which is a level below an assistant coach.
The hill to climb at Davidson is much steeper than even Columbia or Georgetown. Excepting a win over College of Faith, the Wildcats are 2-31 over the past three seasons and have not beaten a Division I team outside the Pioneer in 11 years.
