Think what people don't get about Barge, is that they see 992 yards and 11 TD's, and think that is nice and good, but not overwhelming... they are missing the fact that he has done that while playing in an offense that is ranked 4th in the FCS in rushing. He almost never drops a ball, and if it is within 10 yards of him, he catches it. He is one of the best receivers I have ever seen play.

Not to mention, he is a fantastic run blocker.

I have a lot of friends at work who didn't know JSU existed until I went there and they watched the Auburn game and said Barge was one of the best receivers they had seen. Completely All-American worthy. He'll definitely be on the list next year, followed by a trip to the NFL.

I'm surprised Dawson Wells didn't crack the list either.

On a side note: I'm ecstatic Eli made first team. He definitely deserved it.

Said it before, but it's dumb not to have actual DT spots on an All-Conference/All American list. They are just as important as DEs, but generally DTs don't get the gaudy stats due to the nature of the position.

Idk, it hasn't been a problem with NDSU. Going back to 2010 the DT position has been the anchor of the Bison defense with Matt Gratzek transitioning to Ryan Drevlow and Leevon Perry and now to Brian Schaetz and Nate Tanguay.

You saw firsthand in the NDSU/Montana playoff game what good DTs can do to an opposing team's running game. I don't think DTs are any tougher to find an impact player at than most other positions in the FCS. Like other positions in the FCS you usually have to get high school recruits that are a few inches shorter and a few pounds lighter than the ones FBS schools get.

McNeese had an great DL this year that could seriously stuff the run and not one of them made the list. Look our for Isaiah Golden, who was only a sophomore this year. A lot to come from that young man.

There's been 8 DT drafted from the FCS in the last 6 years. We're far from a NFL DT factory, but there are talented DTs. I think the slight on DTs is mainly due to stats. At NDSU, I wouldn't put Menard ahead of Tanguay. Menard gets the stats, but Tanguay eats up the double teams and stuffs the middle. Both are very good and sophomores, which is exciting moving forward.

Yeah, and because the school is smaller, they must have many fewer players on the team. Otherwise, there would be nothing remarkable at all about one school's 80 something man roster having as many stars as another school's. You're right. But you forgot to point out that if all three teams are included, the MVC probably swamped everybody else. I don't care enough to count them. Your #49 and, if he hadn't been injured, #6 would have been very defensible 1st team choices, too.
