The airport is about 2 miles from the Fargodome, with several hotels and restaurants close by. If you're up for a walk you wouldn't even need to rent a car.

No "clubs" so to speak. But if you are looking for the thumping beats and dance type, it would be the OB. If you go on Friday, an 8oz beer would be 18/ cents for either, Michgolden Light, Bud, Bud Light, Miller Light, and Redds. That is from 8-10pm.

Now if you are looking for live music by "decent" (really depends who plays) cover bands, go to the Pickled Parrot. They have large Mason jars of beer for $5, $10 for mix drinks, and $12 for top shelf. You drink 2 of those and you'll be feeling great.

You can drink till you are falling over for less than $100 between Friday and Saturday if you know where to go and when to be there.

Downtown Fargo can offer a lot of fun. There are some different options depending on your age. If your looking for casual, JL Beers, Vinyl Taco, or No Bull are good.

3 Marriott hotels in the area.

MSP and FAR are your best bet for flights. Might find something from Grand Forks, Bismark, or Sioux Falls.

2nd vote for Porter Creek, that place is great. Blarney Stone, Lucky 13s, Kobe, Lucy's(the one on 45th St). Never been to Izumi but heard it's pretty good sushi.

Fly into Fargo, stay at Homewood Suites. Downtown for Friday night dinner at Mezzaluna. Back up restaurants: Montes, Toscana, The HoDo. Must have reservations, eating out is a big activity here. Use Uber, parking can be a pain. Afterwards walk down Broadway and check out some of the other restaurants and bars, maybe stop in the Toasted Frog, or Vinyl Taco for a drink. Hit the Herd and Horns on the way back to the Hotel. Hot complimentary breakfast at the hotel in the morning then walk over to the tailgating and start shaking some hands and wishing people good luck. You might not make it very far, they won't let you leave without more food or drinks. Get in early to the game, check out the warmups, enjoy the game.

Now if you can't stay near the dome, Someplace near the Holiday Inn location would open up a lot of options for hotels and restaurants.

What you will miss with this itinerary: A whole lot of shopping and restaurants further away from campus. But save that for next year.

Club wise I'd check out Shotgun Sally's. There is a dress code, but that's just to keep some people out. It's not that pretentious.
If you are early 20's Old Broadway can be fun.

Couple tips for you Spiders. Spend the little extra and fly right in if you can. Even it is $200 more it is probably a good investment unless you want to spend some time in Minneapoolis.

Get in contact with some guys on here like Bisonoline, IBleedYellow, Bison Fan in NW MN, Bisonfan 02,and a whole host of others so you can meet up and have them escort you to some good eats, and some good drinks. You don't need an escort but it is way more fun to let them show what is so fun about Fargo...and it si a damn good time. Now that they have moved away from Buffalo Wild Wings as a culture hub and allowed us Montana guys to point out some of their great local places like Wurst Bier Hall so now they know what they are doing so have them give you a tour, it is fun.

You must go have some fun with them at the tailgate also. Most of them are not the dicks they appear to be on here so congrats to both teams and hope you go there and have a great time with them.

Don't worry about the bad element there either. I killed the other Kitchen brother when we were there and Milligan works for me now so you are all good. I love the way that feller talks. Teamed him up with Everett from O brother and we have one hell of a sales force going now.

I flew on AAdvantage miles so, being Labor Day weekend, I had to fly in early Thursday and left early Sunday. It was a great time and the fans were delightful in the Greatland. I even made the front page of the Forum sports section being interviewed (the reporter was impressed I think I picked up the Forum every day when I was out there!) about Lafayette's fans making that long trek. A dude on Bisonville, Tatanka, still a good friend, squired me about. Sammys Pizza party, the Scheel's rally and of course the Bisonville tailgates. Just make sure all beer and booze is in red plastic cups! Downtown Fargo is a great enjoyment!

Any recommendations on lodging or meals?

Let's go Spiders.

For hotels, there are some RIGHT by the FargoDome.
1. Candlewood Suites - it's on the edge of the FD parking lot, so you can walk right into the tailgate.
2. Homewood Suites or Days Inn - Both are just north of the FD. So you're talking less than 1/4 mile.

If you want to stay Marriott (saw someone mention that earlier) there is a Courtyard over in Moorhead MN (we are a border town) that's right on the interestate system so less than 15 minute drive to the FD. Or the Residence Inn is new and in south Fargo near 45th Street which has plenty of restaurants.

If you want to stay in the heart of downtown and want to throw down for something unique, the Hotel Donaldson is a boutique style hotel. The Radisson hotel is also a nice place and keeps you right in the heart of downtown.

As for food, it depends your desires of course.
Higher Class:
Mezzaluna's downtown is quite possibly the best in town. If you're coming in Thursday it shouldn't be too busy. Friday or Saturday reservations suggested. Maxwell's in West Fargo is nice as well. Monte's downtown would be another option. Hotel Donaldson downtown is also pretty high end and offers some very unique entrees that change regularly.

Nicer but not expensive:
Porter Creek (based on others' suggestions; I haven't been there yet) is out on the 45th Street corridor. Doolittle's or Spitfire both offer wood-fired options - good ribs, etc. Unfortunately Fargo does not have a very good steakhouse really. We have your traditional chain ones (Texas Roadhouse, Longhorn, and Lone Star) and the Cork and Cleaver is a local one that's pretty decent. Blackbird - this is a brickoven pizza joint.

Casual places for a drink and dinner:
Downtown: Wurst Bier Hall - Great bar with a variety of sausages for food. Vinyl Taco - unique taco line up and pretty tasty. JL Beers - Very small; great beer lineup and good burgers. Rhombus Guys - pizza place with some unique pizza options (I like the Cuban).

Outside of downtown: Lucky 13's is a good bar with a great lineup of burgers, sandwiches and a variety of entrees. Granite City is a regional chain but does have some real good food. Also they have their own beers on tap (I prefer the two pull). Gastropub Billiard's - this is in south Fargo (32nd avenue) and is a huge pool hall with really good food. The outside looks like a dump but it is actually really nice inside. Kind of nice for a change too as it isn't your just bar as you can grab a table and shoot a few games (they have around 50 pool tables).

If you're looking for drinks, let us know what type of crowd you're looking for (age, dance versus casual, high end vs. cheap drinks) and we can get you some info!

For tailgating - feel free to reach out to any of us. We always welcome new people. I made some great friends from Georgia Southern one year. It is going to be cold...and really cold for southern folks. The high is only 12 degrees. So being outside tailgating can be a bit shocking for folks who aren't used to cold. But most of us have tents with heaters. Our setup usually is in the 50+ degree range, so you'll be comfortable. Downfall of tents is it does kind of seclude folks, but don't be shy to wander through or in. Most folks will love seeing opposing team fans! You're more than welcome to stop by ours if you don't mind a bunch of hammered 25-35 year olds :)

In Sept 2011 I stayed at the relatively new Settle Inn in west side of Fargo - liked it very much. Our HC, Frank Tavani, raved about a burger place a short walk from the team hotel the Radisson...I didn't go as I ran out of time and forgot the time but he told me I should visit. Help? I'm hoping for another Fargo run! I totally enjoyed my trip there and would love to see my Bison friends again.

JL Beers. They now have 4 in Fargo-Moorhead. 1 downtown, 1 West Fargo, 1 in the south side of Fargo and another in Moorhead. Be warned...not a good place for a group as seating is extremely limited. If you have more than 4, you will struggle finding spots. I think the downtown one is only about 24 seats total. The non-downtown ones are 47.

Another good burger spot is out by Interstate 29 and 13th Ave called Sickies Garage. It's also local and they have some more unique burger offerings. I recommend the chip and dip burger - comes with homemade potato chips and French Onion dip on top.

You could take the "travelling to Frisco" and move it to Bisonville and just post a link to that to save server storage here

Rows D&E spots 19-25. We have rented a commercial tent and have heaters so it will be nice. Ask for Tony or Pat.

Want to go clubbing as in Dancing..ask someone younger

Want to play Blackjack, pulltabs, or pig wheel (sort of a rolette game) pretty much any bar

Never was a fan of gumbo, shell fish allergies, but when I went to the big easy in 10th grade, 8 years or so ago, they gave me a bowl with some crawdad flavoring (no crawdads to eat) and a beignet, oh man did I fall in love. Now if I make it, I generally use ring sausage, wild rice, and some good spices. Serve that with a side a garlic bread and I can die happy.

Literally ANY brew at Junkyard is good. You can't mess up with any of theirs. Really depends upon what type of brew style you want.

Now, Drekker I've been told completely redid their recipes, which is good. When they first opened I didn't like one single brew that they came out with.

Eh, I just like to try different styles, and personally I prefer some flavors the big boys don't do as often. It is also kind of fun at the smaller places how you can get to know the brewers and staff. I certainly am not going to tell someone else what to drink unless they ask. This is just the local flavor, when I go to Milwaukee or St Louis in addition to trying the small guys I go to Budweiser and Miller. The scale they operate and consistency in their beer is impressive, although I am sad they are no longer owned locally.
