Not playoffs but the SWAC title game drew 40,361 in Houston at NRG stadium. Grambling and Alcorn outdrew the AAC title game which was across town at UH.

Nice. UR-W&M had 7,277 who apparently didn't get enough of that match-up two weeks ago

JSU may have sold that many tickets, but there sure weren't that many in the stands.

Question is how many would have attended if they had the room. 18,232 is standing room only at the Fargo Dome.

I think its 26,000 plus club and suites. There was a very nice crowd at the JSU not sure of why our crowd is causing the butthurt?

Playoff attendance numbers are always "lower" so we pay the NCAA less.

The attendance is the # of tickets sold to the community, # of tickets given to other school's band/school allotment, # of tickets sold to JSU students, and # of home team band members and staff. What you didn't see were all the people in the skyboxes and club seating inside (usually more inside due to cold weather). I have no doubt there were 21k+ students there...

How much inside seating do you have?

Club level is probably 1000+. Not sure how many the Sky boxes can accomodate, a couple hundred total maybe. I'm not exactly sure but that's about what I would guess.
The techs say only 24,000 can fit in there and based off of what I saw with the TSU game when we had 23,400 people, there is easily enough room for 26-27k in Burgess Snow. We can fit 15-16,000 on the home sideline alone.

I have always thought the numbers were low. The stadium seated over 15,000 before it was expanded, and the expansion appeared to add quite a bit more than 9,000.

You get a 24 inch seat at JSU so you could push in more people if needed.

Yeah, when we host the Contest of Champions we normally stuff around 16000 on the front sideline.

With the ADA, and fire marshal standards, I'm not sure you can just squeeze more in when you feel like it.

Dont see us having the problem or at least anytime soon. Saturday we had a good crowd and UTC brought a good crowd. This Friday our reg will show maybe a few hoping to get on tv and express their love for UAT but I dont expect CSU to bring a UTC type crowd.

Yup! Attendance won't be very good Friday either. 6:30 game time with many fans in Chicago area not being able to make it cuz of work and students done with finals and likely heading home. Luckily I have days off to take from work so I can make it down again

You have to pay for the folks there, no way JSU has the funds to give extra to the NCAA.

When they first opened up the other side of the stadium, you could barely move around. Both sides were absolutely packed out. I think the numbers they reported then weren't far off from this.

I hope one end was empty, because we dont have any seats just a building. You must have watched the wrong game?

I guess so cause this picture is only half of the end zone and the other half is filled with the Southerners.

I am a Chattanooga fan and made my first trip to Jacksonville State. It was a great game and a great experience. The crowd listed was 21452 with the capacity of 24000 or 90%. That means that 9 out of 10 seats were filled. Sitting on the UTC side looking at the home side it sure did not look like 9 out 10 filled. Sections on both ends of the home side were barely a third full. But according to you the stadium capacity must be 34000 rather than 24000 because people sit real close. Very interesting. Very exciting game though!

Most of the pictures show a fairly full stadium and the UTC side was close to full. You all brought a huge visiting crowd for JSU standards. No doubt more UTC fans came to JSU than attended the 1st round game.
