Congrats to the BearKats on winning a great game last night. I tried to go on Katfans to give congrats and wish you the best going forward and for some reason I am banned. Not sure what that is all about but if was indeed intentional, well I will just let it go and hopefully the Admin will let me know the reason. If not, well he can read between the lines

hadn't seen much of Briscoe until last night, very impressive, big arm to go with big talent all around, that Avery is a beast. Kept waiting too see the McNeese D show up but they never did. I would take Sams in a second as well, like the way he kind of moves laterally for a few steps and than explodes down field. I haven't seen much of McNeese this year, but it seemed the coach might of feel in love with Sams running a bit too much, I would of liked to see him put it over the top a bit more.

I'm guessing a few trolls caused the mods to go through and ban any user McNeese related. Personally I wouldn't have done that but I understand if the mods did.
Great game between two great teams. One of the best SLC games I've ever seen. That one could have truly gone either way.

I've given my share to mcneese fans here but you guys deserve a lot of credit, the stands were full of folks and it was great to see. Not the end you wanted, but mcneese will be back and hopefully this is just the first of a lot of great games between us.

Sams completed LESS than 50% of his passes.
13 TDs, 9 INTs.
The only person who wants Sams to throw is the opponents D.
McNeese needs another QB if they are to be taken seriously.

I hope we never again have by weeks this late in the season. McNeese was lethargic against Lamar and just seemed a step slow last night. Congrats to Sam Houston the rest of the year.

I didn't think they looked slow. I actually thought both defenses were really flying to the ball and the offenses were pretty sharp considering the defenses. It came down to a few bounces one way or another and a few unfortunate penalties and mistakes. One of the best games I have ever had the opportunity to attend.

Part of that might have been because Sam Houston had some players available last night that weren't able to suit up for the first game...

I don't know about that, Sams did more in that game last night than the Delaware QB did all year,. Any Delaware fan would of been dying for this guy to play his senor season up north

Sams is done at McNeese correct? I think he is a Senior.

Yes, he is a Sr. Next man up will probably be Jr (next year) Grant Ashcraft, 6'5" 220lb gunslinger from Atascocita.

The Cowboys will be very dangerous with an accurate QB. They have a lot of good players at the skill positions. Does Ashcraft run well or is he more of a traditional pocket passer? Sams simply had too much trouble with the short to intermediate passes...but be was dropping dimes down the field.
On a side note, I am glad Sams is gone. Something about his arrogant body language and attitude is very off-putting. Reminds me of Cam Newton without the ability to back it up.

Daniel Sams was a senior so it was his last game. Next, season it will be 6' 5" Grant Ashcraft, who is more of a drop back passer who can also run a little. Can't run as good as Daniel but can throw the ball better.
Our biggest concern will be the guys that we will lose on the offensive line and replacing them. After, that it will replacing some of the senior DB's.

Oh, I've said it on Katfans but I haven't said it here, yet. Congrats, Bearkats. You've got the SLC banner now, make us proud in the playoffs.
Start by beating Colgate.

McNeese has a good run in them the next couple of years. Conference race will be fun to watch.

Yeah I got a feeling with both teams strengths coming back it will be a battle for first for both teams the next two years.
I don't see the Bears with 26 seniors, probably the last of Crimp Crunks players, leaving that they will contend. Too many holes.
Well at least tailgating in Lake Charles will be fun! xthumbsupx

I am not sure about the specific returning talent on Bears, but I hope you guys are competitive next year and in the future. Considering the crap that live at the bottom of the conference, we need all the legit teams we can get to help the conference rep and strength of schedule. My sleeper strong team in the future is Incarnate Word.

With all the offensive linemen and defensive backs we are losing, you guys are going to kill us next season. Hell, we might have trouble with Houston Baptist if the conference ever lets us play them. ;)

It should be a rule. The defending Conference Champs can opt out of playing on The Birthday Cake...
I think that would really give some teeth to a battle for the conference title!

Before the season starts I'm going to write up a conference preview. I'm sure I could use some help from avid fans of their teams. But this season is still going...Go SAM! xthumbsupx

I can tell you some right now. We will be hurting on the offensive line with the guys that are seniors leaving. We will have an unproven QB. He looks like he might be good but for all we know he could be a 6' 5" statue back there and, if he gets hurt there will be even more of a mystery.
We only had two runningbacks doing individual drills with Coach Slade Nagle before the Sam game. So, we need to find some runningbacks. Ryan Ross's "bigger" younger brother was redshirted at RB. Talking with our strength and contiioning coach a week or so ago, he is at 260 lbs at 16% (I think that was it) body fat. Question is can he run? He looked good in fall workouts before he was redshirted. Hopefully, the speedster, Ben Jones, and Dylan Long's knees will be healed and they will be back to normal. After that it is a mystery.
We should be decent at WR and TE.
On defense we will be good in the line plus we should have Brian Hines back from his knee injury.
Behind them we lose a very good LB and ton of good DB's. Some young guys need to step up.
We will also lose Jean Breaux at P/K. He was a weapon this season. We need to find some sort of replacement.
It's going to be a rebuilding year. Maybe, if the conference will let us play Houston Baptist, we can win a conference game.

If Sam makes it to the finals and loses again I'm pretty sure they will be known as the Buffalo Bills.. so much talent...so little final success. xeyebrowx

We didn't lose 4 in row....but I would rather get there and lose than never have made it to the game. The playoff ride is the great journey...

Oh, you meant UD taking Sams? Well, yeah...duh. But if Brock had Sams, Sams would have been sitting on the bench behind the anointed one.
Cripes, UD would be have been better off with Helen Keller at QB this year.

but at least they are an FCS team, that BIG 10 match up is not going to end well for FCS
