I really only started this thread to say congratulations UNI fans on beating North Carolina in MBB today. Very Impressive and exciting. I was going bananas watching that game.
As for football. Win and in.

Unfortunately it seems like blown plays are our plan to score. We have a hard time driving.
3 and our on our first 2 drives against a bad SIU defense.

The fan-base is more interested in a basketball team that just went to 4-0 and the volleyball team that is on the verge of a conference championship than the 3-7 football team.

Nice. And Isom is just a freshman.
Which could be bad news for the rest of the league.

So, a UNI win makes them #3 in the MVFC, right?

They would be tied for third if they win with WIU and SDSU.

Ah, but WIU holds both tiebreakers. It will be interesting to see how the bracket shakes out since It's actually:
1. NDSU 9-2
1b. ISUR 9-2
3. WIU 6-5
3b. UNI 7-4
3c. SDSU 8-3
With the b and c being sorted by head to head matchups or tiebreakers.

Yeah sadly WIU won't probably make it in even though two teams they have tiebreakers against will probably make it. Obviously only if we hold on against SIU which isn't guaranteed with how they can score and how much game is left.

Hold onto your lead! UNI deserves the playoffs this year.

Plus their 5-3 is better than any other 5-3 regardless of tiebreaks since they didn't play the MSU.

That will be interesting. Committee is going to have a real headache on taking 4 vs 5 MVFC teams.

So I'm watching this game hearing these announcers talk about how close they were to being 9-2. I didn't hear our announcers but I assume they were talking about how close we were to 8-3. If you are losing games close its still losing. And I have a lot of losing experience.

Hell, they should take ALL MVFC teams except for Missouri State and YSU (the latter just b/c of Pelini's actions), and maybe SIU.

Interesting useless stat of the day:
SIU finishes the season at 3-8 (including losing each of its last two games by 21 pts)
but cumulatively, they scored 16 more points in the season than their opponents (397-381)

Mark Iannotti finishes number one in Total Offense in the nation. Broke Nick Hills school record in 11 games (Hill got record while playing in a 14 game season). His 3911 yards is a a regular season MVFC record--but he may be named All-American but not All-MVFC. QB on winning teams get all the goodies.
