I will have to agree with Laces on this one. I think they're pretty sharp. Maryland easily has the most combos available since they have four colors. Didn't they used to wear yellow for football?

UMass's black pants looks terrible, especially with the white helmet. It's the only combo I dislike. I liked the all-maroon combo UMass wore in 2006 at Nooga.

Great looking uniforms.

I wrote too soon. The only one I like is the home blues. Enough gold trim to give them some punch. The aways with either blue or gold pants are pretty plain.

Black is one of the four primary colors for Maryland. AFAIK black is not a school color for UMass. I don't like when teams use black as a primary when it's only a trim color for the uniforms. xpeacex

Very crisp looking. Maybe just needs a stripe or a little more white trim on the jerseys to tie it together. I guess I'm just used to yellow pants with blue/yellow tops.

I was really talking about for teams who black is not a primary color (like when FSU or the Philly Eagles wears them). I do like the TU blacks, but they also have enough gold trim to break it up and it is one of your primary colors. BTW, I still love our Hen unis. :)

Like 89' said, if it's the teams primary color, I like 'em too. But not as a third/alternate jersey.

I also don't like the all black look a team might wear. IMO, set the uni off by having white pants, or something. Black helmet, black jersey, white pants is a good look, with the obvious third color for the stripes/piping, etc..

Yup. I've never really been a fan of the one color unis in general. Sometimes it's OK, but I actually prefer the three color approach, you have or had two combos like that. The new FAMU solids aren't my favorites, and the green/orange combo is one of my least favorite in all of football.

Yes...I was very pleased to see them when pictures were released. I was scared they were going to be very arena football-like. Our all white away uni's are money.

Yeah, they aren't too high on many people's list, but I figured it was best to admit to them early before someone brought them up in too negative a fashion. From what I have heard these uniforms were actually designed by the players, and if it makes them happy, and possibly helps in recruiting then it works for me.

I was at that game and I have never been in such a down pour.

SFA won 42 to 37 despite turning the ball over 7 times. SFA had almost 470 total yards of offense (266 on the ground)

The uniform that NDSU had been using in the past certainly was bold but it was very distinctive and it had a great deal of character. Sort of "in your face" traditional, for lack of a better description. NDSU colors are brassy so you need just the right style to make it work. I fear that Nike has taken a cookie-cutter font face and trim effect and plastered in on the National Champions more for its own benefit than for that of the high-visibility NDSU program.

On the upside, reports are that the new Nike materials and construction are much more flexible and better fitting, and that the players really like that.

Makes me suspect it was a Nike forced deal. Something along the lines of "Hey Jeremy and Brian, you guys are three time national champs and you should have a custom font! That would be great for NDSU and Nike! We'll call it something snappy ... like 'Bison Bold'! What do you think? I know a great company out in PA that is 'Nike-preferred' that will design it, it'll be great."

I would have much preferred a version of NDSU's previous design that got rid of the piping and extra crap. Clean cut and traditional (including the font) is the best look for the Bison.

Here were the previous uniforms (the away/White were the same design with white base, green numbers lettering and yellow accents).

If true, that just means it's more likely to have been driven by Nike.

Again, why would NDSU hire a company in PA to design a custom font and revamp logos after the 2011-12 season if it wasn't at the behest of Nike, their uniform partner?

Nike calls the shots if you choose to align with them and you're a small fry (ie, not a P5 school). That's how it works.

There are 300+ custom fonts? Come on ...

"Oh look, see we tilted the letter 'A' by 0.5 degrees here. Now it's custom for you!"

But anyway, I'm not saying NDSU had nothing to do with the idea. I'm saying Nike forced it upon them as soon as they won the championship and made them use some company that was Nike-preferred out in PA.

Fordham will be wearing alternate uniforms in their Liberty Cup game against Columbia on Sept. 20. I don't know if they will be the same as last year's with the American flag numbers, but I know they'll be wearing alternates.

I doubt a truly unique font shape has been created for every DI school. It wouldn't surprise me to find two trademarked "custom" fonts have at best superficial differences between the font shapes. And so I would guess the coloring plays the most significant role in trademarking a "custom" font for each school.

And anyway, the real point was that the "Bison Bold" font is clown font. ND taxpayer money was shipped over to PA and then down the tubes.

They would've done much better to have a bold, squared font and make it look like a real football uniform. Keep the clown font for basketball uniforms, etc.
