There was probally 1000 people in line at 9 when it opened, and it looked like they only had maybe 100 tickets left. Im just wondering if any school will get more or if more have been requested.

Tix are being sold at the ASU ticket office for section 102 (Umass Side). We have their tickets already and they are all gonna be sold, the line was inside looped around and ending at hardees. I got there at 4:30 am, 7th in line and there wasn't much more left after me on the App side.

tried to call since 9am this morning. finally ASU sold us 4 tickets on the other side of the field, so I guess UMass has already conceded some tickets to ASU. They told us not to worry our entire section (201 :( ) was sold to app fans this morning. Anyone else in 201?

Oh i completely agree, they should get some of their fans there.
But considering the distance and the fact that there exams start on Friday, I can understand why they may not have requested more.

UMass has to be realistic about the number of tickets they request. It would be embarrassing to request too many and then have to return a couple of thousand. When I called our ticket office today to order mine, I got the impression we will sell out what we have, because they weren't guaranteeing anything, even to a high priority point holder like myself. If we do sell out, I would hope UMass does everything they can to request more.
Having said that, two things are not in dispute: App State is a relatively easy drive to Chatty while UMass is either a marathon drive or a plane trip. I did the latter, I'm too old for long road trips these days.:) And the other is that the UMass fan base is not nearly as passionate about the program as those at App State and others. That's just the way it is in New England. The only reason we sold out the UNH playoff game is because a lot of fans, especially students, jumped on the bandwagon. But I guess we have to start somewhere. Don't worry, we'll make plenty of noise for our small numbers on Friday night.

We had a hearty group of folks out at the Holmes Center Box Office last night/this morning. A buddy and I got there at 2 AM and people trickled in slowly all morning until the huge rush came at 9. We ended up getting 24th row on around the 30-yard line.
Much credit goes to the 4 freshman girls who were out there at 3 this morning. They were either really dumb or really dedicated. And it was nice to meet you appstate09. I'll see you in Chattanooga!

One of my friends is saying at approximately 1:20 we sold out our current allotment. Hopefully UMass will free up some soon because we still have a ton of people who want them.

i sat in the wrong side last year....actually RIGHT next to UNI band but my section was pretty heavily app fans even though we were on the wrong side...it almost made it more fun because of the taunting back and forth (which they started and we were happy to return and it was mostly just friendly anyway) but im glad im gonna be on the right side this year

Yeah, I mean top row. I know it's not so bad being up high, but last year we were so close we could practically talk to Jason Hunter. It was also quite easy to rush the field.

As far as lousy tickets going 1st, they probably allot the best tickets so that high priority season ticket holders get 1st crack at them. If they don't sell them out by the allotted time, you may see some quality seats become available around Wednesday or so.

What was the final allocation of tickets? I have understood that Chattanooga sold 8k (will include some ASU fans) plus ASU was allotted 7,500 and UMass requested 1,000. If capacity is over 20k, then that still leaves around 4,000 seats. Where did these seats go?

yes it was nice to meet you spoogemcgee18. I got tix in sec 129 row 8 and it was pretty much the last of the tix on the visitor side (app side). The rest of the tix distributed were from the Umass side. I am glad i got there at 4:30am cuz coming out of the office the line was approaching Hardees which is crazy

about getting bad tickets early, we got in line before the game ended, waited in line an hour and a half, and got tickets in section 109 row 15, which is on the 25-30 yard line. Sucks that you got bad ones, I wish they would have given the students the best seats instead of the yosef club members.

...to ASU, their ticket office was burning the lines to our ticket office all morning.
I will wager that when all is said and done...on Friday night there will be at least 14,000 ASU fans in the stands.

Thanks CM. That makes sense - I just never heard official word that ASU was able to acquire more tickets. Hopefully we can get 22k there. Finley Stadium is an excellent facility for a title game. Just hope all Mountaineers can make it that want to!

I hope we as a team can go over that 14,000 number and more importantly I would love to see as many people in the stands as possible. 22,000 would be great but can we do more?
