Western is looking good against the Aggies. Newsome and Mitchell are good. I knew they were players....but they are really good.

Great showing so far by WCU. It was a killer to come away with nothing early in the game when WCU had 1st and goal at the 4. I hope they can come out rolling in the 2nd half. xthumbsupx

I hope they do well but I think the depth of A&M will unfortunately show in the second half. Hope their emotions don't get the best of them. And I just hope they don't give up, A&M looks vulnerable right now. GO CATS!

They have already scored more on Texas A&M than they have against the Mocs in the last two years combined. ;)
Honestly though...I am pulling for WCU tonight. A good showing for WCU is a good showing for the SoCon.

WCU is missing the opportunities they needed to capitalize on to win this game.

I just flipped back to see TM run for about 20. Special players.

34-17. Too many dropped INT opportunities plus couple of dumb penalties. I just want to get out of TX healthy, deposit $600k and beat VMI to finish 7-4. Baby steps. GO CATS!

A great effort by WCU. Many missed opportunites. I did lose some respect for WCU a few minutes ago: With 11:30 left in the 4th quarter, and WCU trailing 34-14, they elected to kick a field goal on 4th and 5 from the 7 yard line? Talk about waving the white flag. Play to win!

College Station, Texas - Quarterback Kyler Murray threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns including two to Christian Kirk as Texas A&M pulled away from upset-minded Western Carolina, 41-17, on Saturday night in nonconference action at Kyle Field.
Consecutive second quarter touchdowns including a 17-yard Detrez Newsome (http://www.catamountsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/detrez_newsome_906341.html) reception and a scoop-and-score by Avery Worsham (http://www.catamountsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/avery_worsham_852466.html) on a fumbled kickoff return pulled Western Carolina even at 14. The Aggies took a one-score edge into the halftime locker room, 21-14, after the first of Kirk’s receiving scores.
Texas A&M (7-3) outscored the NCAA FCS-member Catamounts 20-to-3 after intermission to pull away for the victory.
Troy Mitchell (http://www.catamountsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/troy_mitchell_800899.html) completed 17-of-31 passes for 165 yards and the 17-yard touchdown pass to Newsome in his return to his home state – the lone Texan on WCU’s roster. Newsome rushed for 111 yards, the second time the sophomore back eclipsed the century mark against an SEC opponent this fall. It was Newsome’s fifth, 100-yard rushing performance giving him 968 yards on the ground in 2015.
Newsome added a team-high seven receptions for 31 yards while Spearman Robinson (http://www.catamountsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/spearman_robinson_800902.html) paced the team with 64 receiving yards on three catches, making two leaping grabs on the night.
In addition to Murray’s 191 passing yards, running back Tra Carson rushed for 109 yards and a two-yard score, all coming in the first half. Senior Brice Dolezal carried the ball 18 times for 84 yards after intermission.
Texas A&M ran a combined 97 plays offensively as compared to just 58 for the Catamounts.
Western Carolina (6-4, 4-2 SoCon) travels to Lexington, Va., next Saturday, Nov. 21 to wrap-up the regular season, facing VMI in league action. The Keydets (2-8, 1-5 SoCon) were idle this week. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
