I just realized Richmond has their FBS/ACC schools scheduled from now until 2021.
2016 - UVA
2017 - BC
2018 - UVA
2019 - BC
2020 - Pitt
2021 - VaTech
Does everyone else schedule this far out?

For the Bison we are playing Iowa next year. There is also a contact signed with Oregon, I forget which year but there will be 50 bison fans to remind me :)
Beyond that I don't know if we have anything signed. It has been tough getting them as of late. I suppose winning 5 in a row will do that.

Bear fans only know next year: Arkansas State.
But coach kinda hinted at a two game series with them so I'm thinking also in 2017 but not sure.
In talks with Auburn or Missouri for 2016 from an LCD article back in 2013.
Possible Kansas State in 2017.

We've got the following:
2016 - Northern Illinois
2017 - Northwestern
2018 - Illinois
Beyond that, we don't really know. We often play Big 10 or MAC schools because they're close (saves travel $, we can bring a decent crowd, etc.), but with the Big 10's recent decision to not schedule any new games against FCS teams, it's kinda thrown a wrench in the future scheduling situation. Big 10 schools will look more towards other P5 FBS schools as well as nearby G5 schools (mostly MAC), which kinda fills up their schedules as well. Kinda have to wait until things sort out with them before we can go much further.

JMU has:

2017 - ECU
Think we might have NC State after that but those are the only two that I'm sure about right now.

Upcoming Catamount Football FBS Opponents:
2015: at Texas A&M - Nov. 14, 2015
2016: at East Carolina - Sept. 3, 2016
2016: at South Carolina – Nov. 19, 2016
2017: at Hawai'i - Sept. 2, 2017
2019: at N.C. State - Sept. 7, 2019
2024: at N.C. State - Aug. 31, 2024
It does look like WCU may try to keep 2 FBS games a year. I am sure they will do the same for 2017 if they can get away with it.

They can't afford a guarantee enough to make it worth it anyway. The Bison would be better off paying someone for another home game and pocket the ticket proceeds.

It's how you look at it. The advertisement for NDSU on ESPN is worth a lot. NDSU has gotten millions of dollars of airtime on ESPN.

Not many G5 games would get televised though and without real TV the "advertisement" you speak of isn't there. Look at several FCS/G5 games this year that had no coverage at all. We are pretty well beyond what G5's can provide, as was said NDSU can make more money with a home game and still be on ESPN3. We will have to continue the B12, P12 or maybe even SEC route to get FBS games. At least until those start B1Ging FCS foes too.

The big 10 realizes they just took one win from the win column every year right? Well... Mac schools will be replacing them and they win as often as Fcs schools do pretty much. Maybe not.

....and, it'll cost them more money. I believe the typical B10 payout to a 1-AA team is in the $400 -$450 K range......for M A C schools, isn't it usually $750K+?

I doubt the "big boys" care about a few hundred K. They're more concerned with having what appears to be a better SOS (I say "appears to be" because as most of us know, there's plenty of FCS teams that could take most of the MAC teams to the woodshed....ISUr or NDSU the last few years vs someone like a directional Michigan would be UGLY). To most outsiders, FBS is automatically better than FCS, regardless of actual quality of the team. Plus they hate being embarrassed by their "little brothers".

As far as FBS opponents go that's a great slate! No "elite level" opponents and no slugs either. I've been to ECU and Kent State for Temple games. I thoroughly enjoyed both. ECU has a really good game day atmosphere. Their campus is really nice too! KSU is close to the Pro Football HOF and several other attractions.
