I don't imagine solar panels are very effective in the winter.

Is that wheat or soybean on the helmets?
Edit: Seems like wheat

NDSU should look into incorporating wheat into more of the jersey.

I wasn't a huge fan of this helmet at first, but the more I look at the wheat on it, the more I love it.
I think it'd be great to embrace the Ag School and attempt to work with the wheat more in the jersey as well.

Count me in with a big xthumbsupx for the helmet.
I'll steal a quote from a Bisonviller and say that NDSU's tradition is built on more than a helmet and I think as long as the alts are tasteful and used sparingly I'm all for it.

That should be durum wheat. North Dakota produces 58% of the US crop.
When is the last time that NDSU wore anything but yellow helmets? I can remember back to the mid-60s.

Probably when helmets were leather. I know they've been yellow for every game since the 60s.

Some pics of Mankato in there too...
Take this for what its worth....1965? I believe the previous helmets may have been white with numerals...

Eh.. could be spring wheat. ND produces 47% of that crop.
ND produces a lot of food and energy, not so good in the tourism sector.

Solar??? Are you kidding me, North Dakota is loaded with coal, oil, and wind, not real big fans of solar in these parts .:D

The green helmets look awesome!
The wheat stalk is definitely appropriate for NDSU and it looks great on the helmet.

I must admit I wasn't a fan of messing with our traditional helmet which has been yellow since 1960, but these look pretty damn sharp and they hit it out of the park.just so we don't start going all Oregon......

Some matte finish colors are ugly, but the green works. I don't know what it is, but I just hate the Minnesota Gophers matte finish, although the Vikings helmets aren't so bad.
Green helmets and gold shirts should be a good look.

You are kidding yourself if you think these helmets will only be used once ever. I would guess you can expect to see them once more this season and 2-3 times next season, and so on. Just like the gold jerseys.

Harvest bowl every year. I know some of the people involved.

I can believe that is/was the initial intent. But I find it hard to believe these helmets will only be seen once a year. Like the gold jerseys, they simply look too good to keep hidden away in a storage facility.

I find it hard to believe they will only be used once a year also. But that was the intent. They will end up over doing it like they did the gold jerseys and it wont mean anything anymore.

Because there is a fear of that happeningxrolleyesx.
I thought SDSU fans were old boring sticks in the mud. The helmets look great. Whether you like it or not, this is the wave of the future. Recruits like it. Fans like it. Expect it to continue. But Oregon? Maryland? I don't think so.

Like to see it three times a year. Harvest Bowl, one playoff game, and the spring game. It is the Green and Gold game after all.
